The newly refurbsihed Khyber, Wiltshire's first Indian restaurant, owned and managed by the Ali family since 1962.

Story

The Khyber has evolved over 50 years constantly broadening our menu to cater for the discerning palette of westerners.

Just had my first meal at the Khyber in Swindon and wow it was so good . A great use of spices it was so tasty and filling .
The portions will spoil any diet but absolutely worth it.
The restaurant is clean and the staff so polite and helpful 
The Manager knows his food and helped us choose the right meal with just the correct heat

Great Indian restaurant. Had prawn puree and chicken dhansak, both really good. Prompt and friendly service too. Will go back.

Quite possibly one of the worst eating experiences of my life (and I have eaten quite a lot!). Table booked for 9, after a long wait for our table and after people had to be moved. We eventually getting a chance to order but our food still had not arrived by 10:45. When the waiter was asked when our food was going to arrive a very unhelpful response of “I don’t know” came with a laugh and then silence. After prompting him, he decided to ask. Around 10 minutes was the answer. After 20 minutes the food arrived finally, it was certainly not worth the wait. It was very bland. When clearing the plates instead of an “excuse me, could you please pass me your plate?” A rather arrogant point to my plate came from an other member of staff. Certainly an experience I would never want to repeat.

6 of us went out after waiting over half an for a hour for a table. we then waited another 10 mins to have order taken. The very worth bit was waiting an hour for food then only 4 of use had our meals. The rest of us had almost eaten and still no sign of last 2 meals. we had been on the restaurant h
for 2hours and 15 mins. left very unhappy and 2 people still hungry. was still expected to pay for everything.
