Had a good time with friends here. The place was quite busy so it was a bit noisy, but that’s expected. Most of the food was good, but the Indian dish I tried wasn’t great. You can tell right away it wasn’t freshly made, probably frozen, which takes away from the flavour. Apart from that, everything else was spot on and we enjoyed ourselves.
Oh dear! The food wasn’t great for any in my party. Over done steaks and small portions. Grilled chicken that had clearly been microwaved. Meals missing from the order and slow service for drinks. Not a lot to be positive about. Still nice to catch up with the lads
I will start by saying I am a massive fan of Spoons but this visit was unbelievable in comparison to all the other places I’ve enjoyed…. There was a party of 14 of us , old chaps known as “Men that Munch” ex rugby players.nAt least 5 pumps were off… restricting our choice considerably to unknown beers there were, like me a lot of Abbot drinkers…. Not availablenMy fish and chips eventually arrived 40 mins later and was so dry as to suggest they had been standing for quite a while! The chips were over cooked and the fish and peas very dry…. I’m 79 years old and would be quite happy with corn beef from the can! But this visit… the staff and kitchen need looking at!!!!! Or staff numbersnI’ll not revisit Lowestoft… even though I had even been told that it’s not good by a lot of guys…nnStill love you but not Lowestoft….. in a big way.
Looks great from the outside, unfortunately that's where it ended for our party. We used the upstairs bar.nThe food & drinks were fine.nService was very, very slow.nTables hadn't been cleared from breakfast service it was 12.20 when we arrived and the toilets were full of things that, shouldn't be down the toilet!nThe men in the party said the gents were incredibly dirty and smelt worse than other gents toilets.nAtmosphere was ok, it was a quiet Sunday afternoon.nSorry we won't be returning.
Best wine and chicken wings I came from Ireland on a day visit , needed something to eat , I’ve really been having bad wine in Ireland, this is amazing , there’s no music here though, but the people make it vibes
