Booked an afternoon high tea with the family 4 + 2kids and it was a car crash start to finish. Finished our 2 plates of below average filled rolls fatty ham, savoury cheese & coronation chicken from the co-op no doubt and 2 plates of tray-bake cakes had to order additional lunch meals for 2 of the adults because the rolls were sub-par… then had to ask them for coffees/tea because they are included but they weren’t brought out and had to ask for a wee jug of milk which took ages to come. Lipstick on cups, not once did the incredibly young, untrained staff ask if there would be anything else or if everything was ok, £30 for 2 baked tatties, drinks we bought and didn’t need had they offered us the tea/coffee… got out of there asap after shedding almost £160 for the above and even the wife cried on the way home from the belated Mother’s Day.nGive this place a wide berth if you want a nice, stress free family dinner
Went for dinner last night. Food was quite nice, not much choice of white wine. The lady serving the tables is an absolute credit to the business. When I thanked her for her excellent service she amazed me by saying it was her first night working in the restaurant. Unbelievable!
Booked here for one night in Jan, we took our little pug. All the staff we came across where very friendly and welcoming. Nice pub grub, our room was very spacious, beautiful location. The only small negative is that there was no atmosphere in the bar area, perhaps some music would be nice.nall in all a relaxing and peaceful night.
I have no words for how poor this place is, we ordered 6 afternoon teas and they were awful, there was no sandwiches just rolls with awful fillings 2 of our party had to order baked potatoes that were really dry and had no butter on them, the cakes were tray bakes not really very nice, the scones were good. Service was abysmal we had to ask if tea and coffee came with the afternoon tea, when the hot drinks arrived there was no milk and when asked we waited for a time for this to arrive the service was really poor with poorly trained staff, I feel so sorry for my daughter who had saved up to take us for this afternoon tea she is so apologetic but it’s not her fault she was recommend this place but we will not be back and certainly would not recommend the inn at Charlestown! Not one of the party liked any of the food sadly we were not asked if anything was ok we were left to keep going up to the bar and along the staff for service! £150 spent for absolute rubbish!
My girlfriend and her dog stayed at the Inn last weekend 7th -10th Mar and we both honestly say there was no negatives with the hotel , staff or location our double rm with Seaview and balcony was spotless and everything you need for your stay is in the room. The staff were all very pleasant and cheery and as for the location, well, it's absolutely awesome, ideal for us taking the dog for his early morning walk we used it as a base to visit family in fife and we will not stay anywhere now as we love it so much and cost was very reasonable. Our breakfasts were vg and we ate there twice and my gf raved about the salmon dish we seen the fish arrive fresh on Saturday so thank you to all the staff for making our stay welcoming and we look forward to our next stay
