Very pleased with the overall experience as it exceeded my expectations. Older hotels have tremendous challenges keeping up with modern purpose built hotels.nIt was very charming to see the history of the hotel woven into the decor. The Imperial is very well maintained, comfortable, full of character and delightful as it maintains it's own identity in a world of cookie cutter duplicates.nStayed a second time, room wasn't as good and backed onto a busy street across from a pub. So there was a good bit of noise into the night and then the barrels of beer were delivered at 5am so a poor night's sleep was had.... Star deducted....
Super underwhelming, rented umbrellas when you literally walk in says it all.nThe price was super high when we booked and I went on to research a bit more and on the day the rooms were going for 30% less than what we paid.nMassive renovation needs to be done, the cafe is mismatched, the whole aesthetic is a bit mismatched.nRoom was very small, not very grand like the impression it gives off.nSmall wins were the prosecco on arrival which I could presume was because it was close to Valentine's Day, the bathroom looked fresh but the grout needed work and the service at breakfast was 10/10.nDefinitely would've paid the extra €40 to stay somewhere nicer like The Dean.nIt felt rough around the edges.
We were slightly underwhelmed and disappointed with our three night stay. While the hotel is a beautiful historic building right in the center of Cork city we found it was let down by a few things. The bed was not very comfortable. There was no fridge in the room, the bathroom was tiny and missed basic things like a toilet brush.nnThe pints in the bar were awful, the breakfast was subpar with freezing cold coffee.nnMost of the staff were lovely especially our housekeeper whom was fantastic and friendly.nnChecking in and out was straightforward and the reception staff were very pleasant.nnOverall I rate this hotel 3 stars based on my experience.
Top class, its being years since I stayed but it was really nice. Room was very comfortable, bonus points for the lost art of free bottles of water. IPA on draught in a lovely bar. Will definitely stay again soon.
In town to visit family and enjoy staying at this facility. Love the history and inclusion of Micheal Collins story. We visited the spa and ate in the restaurant and coffee shop. Food was good. The Iincluded breakfast had a nice variety of buffet items as well as a hot cooked menu. Service was good and the room was excellent. Nice view of the front street. Had the windows open but the local pub noise was too much even on a Monday & Tuesday night. But that’s Cork!
