A meat feast of top quality. Lovely pate to start and the best ice cream to finish it all off. All the staff are great. We were waited on by Lewis, whom we thought was a very pleasant young man and good fun. Only niggle was the restaurant was a wee bit chilly. Overall very enjoyable and recommend with ease.
We have been visiting the huntsman for several years, with no complaints. But when our family visited on the 18/12/22 we were very disappointed. Stater big Main, one of the chefs need to go to carving school, mashed potatoes were runny, when you put gravy on they washed away. Limited choice of veg. Pudding big Come on huntsman your better than that.
Went on Sunday 26th February 2023 in a party of 3 to celebrate a birthday. We all enjoyed the prawn cocktail starters and home made deserts. The rating for only 3 stars was because we felt the quality of the meat was nowhere near the standard we have grown to expect from this carvery. The gammon was good but the beef was chewy and lacked flavour. We suspect it is quite a cheap cut. Indeed we boxed the beef at the end of the meal and gave it to the family dog. The turkey also seemed low quality and nowhere near the Norfolk bronze turkeys that the restaurant used to serve. Ambience and table service were excellent. We didn't think meat of that quality was worth 35 pounds a head though.

Lovely food. But too much for a 3 course meal. Couldn't opt out for a 2 course. Had to pay for all 3 courses. Service slow at times. Carvery Lovely.Food: 4/5
Service started off not too well on my last visit but picked up and recovered well. The food was cooked beautifully and was very enjoyable. It is quite expensive but definitely worth a visit. It is easily the best carvery I know of with the option to have as much meat as you want. I would highly recommend this place
These people know what they do, and how to do it well. They are proud of their history, their reputation, and rightly so. The food is epic. The quantity of food, is epic. This is no challenge restaurant, there are no photos on the wall or t shirts to be won. The phrase "All you can eat" is given as a promise that you won't leave hungry, or anything short of gut-bustingly stuffed. And every mouthful will make you want, need, another. Just a bit more mash, just a little more stuffing. The true success is that they have a near infinite collection of takeaway boxes so that anything you don't finish can go home with you. And that just prolongs the joy.
The best carvery I've had, it's a 3 course meal on a Sunday so make sure you're hungry!! The starters and puddings were well presented and very tasty and the carvery main was outstanding. Easy 5/5, couldn't fault it.
I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years, and have never experienced very poor table service, the table was sticky, staff had a don't care attitude, my wine glass was under filled measure mark. I felt really rushed, even having three members of staff asking if we was ready for dessert.one after another. This is very poor!!! The food I cannot complain about as it's always been brilliant!!!
Just love this place. Its a set menu so you have the option to take your starter or dessert home so leave ample room for the hugely generous main meal. Service and staff are all first class which means that the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly. Just top notchFood: 5/5
