This place is even nicer inside & the outside is impressive. The food was great & the pie was full of meat & flavour & the Brushcetta is sooooooo good, not like anything I've had before. The staff were very welcoming & friendly & they let us choose where we wanted to sit I'm in a wheelchair but there was no difficulty they have a big disabled toilet & everywhere was fully accessible. We'll definitely be back the food is really good value & you get complimentary bowls of vegetables & chips or potatoes. Can't fault it.
Called in after learning they had reopened. WOW what a difference, staff great and food absolutely fantastic. We are going to keep this place as our special treat place - many thanks to the new owner and new chef. Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intollerant and I was very well looked after.
OMG the best boxing day meal we have ever had. Great food, nothing was to much trouble for the very friendly staff. We will definitely be going again & again.
We went months ago and I was the worst meal we gave ever had, the gamon was over cooked and had balsamic vinegar all over every thing, the chips on it looked reheated and were hard and cold, the other dish was stake witch had balsamic vinegar all over the plate too, the steak was like rubber and the chips were the same as the other dish, we checked the menu and there was no mention of the balsamic vinegar on it, we both left the food and told them we wouldn't pay for the food as it was not eatable, so we only paid for the drinks and had to go elsewhere to eat. So we would recommend you avoid this place.

A group of us had a fabulous lunch on Boxing Day the food was great and the staff and service were exceptional for such a large group of us we will deffo go back again and can highly recommend

Lovely place for drinks. Very well decorated and has a lovely atmosphere. We decided to check out the menu whilst out for drinks and was excited to see they did Sunday roasts and lamb was included lamb is our favourite roast but not many places seem to offer it anymore. However, when we went back for Sunday lunch we were very dissapointed. The portions were ridiculous! Kids had child Sunday roast and the lamb was tracing paper thin and about 8cm round and the adults roast lamb wasn't much better. I had on my plate what I would have expected the children to get as a portion, and my partner who 'went large' got what I would expect a normal adults roast dinner to be. We also got given a small dish of veg, enough to just about feed 3 people there were 4 of us so I asked for more veg. The second lot that came looked like it was sat under the hot lamp for 3 days and the cabbage was crispy and dry! I therefore had to call someone over and ask for more veg. All in all I probably wouldn't eat here again and definitely not for a roast dinner.
Had a lovely meal there on Sat 3rd September. 16 of us. Great meal Pre ordered as 16 of us. All of the meals came out at the same time. Delicious. Always friendly and great service.
Good place for a traditional meal, with enough meal choices, from meats, fish, veggie and even vegan options, served by friendly and welcoming staff, where requests by all times of our visits, meals could be tailored to our preferences and tastes exchange this for that and add/remove that, indeed, an advantage not possible in many restaurants. Some little delays and missing items ordered did not reach the table timely; were the reasons for the 5th star missed here. The pub menu also seems tempting and more affordable; nevertheless, this review is intended for just the restaurant area and menu. Indeed, here and then, a place to return. Vegetarian options: Many choices Parking: Both sides around the Lodge property are parking places Wheelchair accessibility: Ground entrance without much barriers or steps just a manual push/pull entrance door Dietary restrictions: At the time of our visits, everything was tailored to your dietary and food intolerances requirements
