My wife and I have been regulars of the Friockhiem community hub and Heatherheim cafe for a few years now. The staff put on great child friendly activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the holidays such as baking classes, cinema nights and disco's. We often go to the Heatherheim cafe for lunch as well as teas and coffee from the barista machine. The food and drink looks and tastes great aswell as very reasonably priced, they also have an ice cream counter with a large selection to choose from with different toppings that's a hit with the kids. Bouncy castle sessions can be booked online aswell as the sensory room available for younger children and ASN. A fully equipped gym is available for a monthly subscription of £20 it has all the equipment you need for a cardio workout or weight / resistance training. My daughter also attends dance classes held in the main hall weekly. The reception has an Evri drop off and collection point for parcels that's very handy. There are a number of office spaces available for hire meetings etc. We had our daughters birthday at the hub and chose a jungle animal theme that matched the hubs bouncy caste. They have various options when it comes to party's and can tailor for all party sizes with or without catering.
We always have a lunch while we are here. It is a small area and is always kept very clean. The menu has recently been changed with less choice but still a good variety for adults and children. It is also dog friendly.
Visited today for lunch. Very limited menu and some items not available on it. 2 items on our order were wrong, given toasties instead of sandwiches. Cheese and pickle and coronation chicken offered to change it but had already waited 40 minutes so just accepted them. Staff who were front of house seemed very inexperienced so couldn’t really blame them for mistakes made in the kitchen. Unfortunately we won’t be back. They need to up their game.
We stopped off at the cafe and were very impressed by the staff and quality if food.
Lovely place. Well worth having a look at all the different activities etc available.
