"English village pub and restaurant located on the edge of New Forest.Located in New Milton, on the edge of the New Forest, the House Martin is a perfect example of a friendly, quality English village pub that we all know and love. Steeped in history it still has a lot of its original features like the traditional oak beans, open fires and flagstone floors.Enjoy a great Sunday roast, coffee, drinks and dinner or hire a function room for a celebration."

The front of house staff here are second to none. They are so happy, bubbly and friendly. The food was amazingly tasty and prompt after ordering. The establishment is super cute, they have the history on the walls and it's open, bright and modern. Strong 9 out of 10.
Had a works party here, my food choices were fine but others not too happy with their Xmas Dinner choice. A portion of cauliflower cheese came with just 2x florets certainly not worth the money. Staff were pleasant and it had a nice cosy ambience about it.
A mixed Anniversary and Birthday family meal. Food orders requested days earlier prior to arriving , unfortunately some guests couldn't make it but meals still served, other guest didn't get a meal until ordered at the table, dissapointing. 1 meal sent back as not prepared or edible. Waitress was lovely and Barstaff were great.
Quick service and friendly staff but absolutely atrocious meal. Steak was asked to be well done due to being pregnant , it came out pink. This also was meant to be gluten free due to having coeliac disease. It came with onion rings on top of the undercooked steak that weren’t gluten free . They took the steak back and it still came back pink. I’m also now starting with a reaction due to either the chips not being gluten free or the pink steak. Definitely will not be returning. All coeliacs avoid !
Dog friendly pub / restaurant with plenty of parking. A few beers no longer on tap & generally lacking an atmosphere each recent visit with very average foods. Hall & Woodhouse need to step up in these times as all local H & W establishments seem to be the same sub standard that were previously very good.
My friend and I visited to share a meal together. We both had the Flat-iron steak which was tasty, as were the chips; the meal was priced competitively at £17. The pub was nicely decorated and had a pleasant, relaxing ambiance. The steak was slightly overdone I asked for medium-rare but it was medium bordering on medium-well but was still great. Couple of bad points - service was slow at the bar where we had to order food and drink. Additionally, we had to fetch our own cutlery which I didn’t much like. However, all in all it was a pleasant experience and we will return!
First trip out since Lockdown 2.0. The food was really delicious! It felt like Christmas having that Roast. The Yorkshire’s are beaut and I love the Red Cabbage!! With the Turkey, Stuffing and Pig in Blanket, it was a winner. My husband loved his Burger and Triple Cooked Chips as well. And the Hoisin Chicken Wings were lush!! Thank you to all of the staff and our friend Brad Saunders for being superstars and making us feel welcome. The service is great!
My husband booked to take me out for dinner, we were really disappointed. I found that there was not much of a choice or selection on there menu and considering that they were not busy at all took an hour to get our meals which were simply burgers and chips, definitely would not be in a hurry to go back. Over priced and underwhelming
Sadly the food, once again, did not live up to the quality of the serving staff or establishment which are excellent. I've persevered because of the latter and the hope that cold food and late service were just a blip but won't be going here for a meal again.
Friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced. Food was good but had to wait 45 mins from ordering to serving with no apology or explanation. We will not return for that reason
