My daughter joined The House That Jack Built in September, having moved to Marlow Bottom from Marlow. The new manager Michelle and her team have been fantastic. The nursery is always clean, my daughter hardly gets ill as opposed to the other setting where she was always sick. All events and learning objectives are always carefully planned and carried out. My daughter is happy to go in and has not cried once. Thank you to all the lovely staff for being great.
A lovely bustling day nursery which prides itself on exceptional childcare. The staff I worked with were wonderful during my university placement years and the children were a joy to be around. The pastoral support is equally a key asset among all of the House That Jack Built nurseries and I would highly recommend them for any parents looking to see their child flourish in preparation for school.
Had high hopes sending my 8 month old here when I returned to work. However, as soon as I asked basic questions eg what did my child do today? why does my child need a short coat when he has an all in one? Who is his key worker? Can I collect my baby earlier? Is my baby ok I can hear him crying etc the nursery manager would get VERY angry, defensive and rude. This would usually be followed up by a very nice email strange as she just slammed the door in my face and shouted at me… I’m guessing this is to cover herself on paper. After a month or so I’d had enough of the scarce information I’d be given in addition to the bad attitude/slamming doors/aggressive behaviour. I have moved settings at a huge inconvenience to me, but at least there is a sensible and friendly conversation at the end of each day. The confrontational exchanges have come to an end and my baby is happy. I know the basics about what he has done each day now and how he is developing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
I called The house that jack built to enquire about placement, spoke to the manager Claire the manner she speaks to others is absolutely disgusting! Very rude don’t know how she’s a manager.
