The Penwig Hotel is situated at the very front of New Quay, West Wales. It is very popular with the local residents aswell as the visitors to the area.

Story

The sun is shining, the tide is in, and the dolphins (something New Quay is famous for) are jumping and playing in Cardigan Bay.

You walk into our spectacularly located pub, which is both homely and contemporary, where you will be greeted by our friendly and attentive staff.

This is the classic Penwig experience; one that is not complete without sampling our food which is home-cooked and prepared in our kitchen from locally sourced ingredients.

Eat, enjoy a real ale, and take in the amazing views across Cardigan Bay.

Definitely a great pub. It's under new management and it's thriving even through the meger winter months. Good beer and lovely food.

This is a very good place. Comfortable and clean looking..Food is very good too. Good outside seating also over looking Newquay harbour

I rarely give the 5 stars as I feel something has to be that something extra special to get it. And as a combination of the sum of its parts quality of service/quality of food and drink and as an accommodation/location. Placed in just the perfect location over looking the West Wales seas from the crack of dawn you can start Dolphin spotting - from any seat that's near a window - to a vast darkness of night where the waves are only just visable, when distant lights catch the ripple of waves. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. I love Newquay just out of season. It's a quieter more personal experience. And don't think for one second think that the service drops during this time because it just doesn't. The breakfasts were perfect, the steak night absolutely spot on. And one night after a very cold late evening walk around the streets and seafront all we wanted was a hearty warm dessert and we weren't dissapointed! The room was clean and comfortable we just didn't want to leave. We had a perfect stay and are already looking to book early 2018.

Stopped in for drinks on Christmas eve, staff were friendly and the pub is a nice place to spend aome time. View is good too, depending on table.
