Disappointed. I watched the documentary series and thought visiting would be a great experience, and expecting to see the hall of trains featured. However, this was not to be, and the hall of trains was not even on site, let alone opened. £5 to play a bit of Scaletrix seems a bit steep, as there wasn’t much else there. Disappointing.
Great little museum and shop. It was very quiet on our visit so our grandson could run around and explore all the exhibits. Three train layouts with two being interactive and three Scalectrix tracks that you can enjoy. The cafe is basic but reasonably priced and the food is nice. Definitely worth the small entrance fee.
Fantastic little museum. Lots to look at. Not a huge museum. With children and a stop for lunch id say it's 2 hours maximum. Some interactive scalextric sets for children. Worth a look and tickets aren't expensive. Cafe on site mainly selling cooked meals rather than pre packed sandwiches. Huge shop - shop itself nearly as big as the museum.
Great place for the kids. They loved the scalextric tracks and the trains.
I’m not really sure what to think. I used to come here before it was renovated. Advertised on Facebook it appeared that you could go and stand with the physical cars and trains that they have in the new building added on. Unfortunately that’s still not the case and ‘open to the public’.nMy daughter was a little upset that she couldn’t still see the trains. The little room they have now with all the displays certainly seems smaller and less filled. Though the guy assured me the old trail they had ALL fitted within this room.. I beg to differ because I remember coming out of a door near the cafe at the end of the trail. Personally, though it’s nice for someone that wants to kill 20 mins. I personally don’t feel that it’s worth traveling too if you are paying all that money to step into a small room to take a look around in.nnOpen up the building where you can walk around the trains properly and my review may be different. My daughter was 4 when we first visited. She’s now 11 and still hasn’t visited the trains.
