Visited The Home Front Tea Room today as we fancied trying our first ever “Afternoon Tea” as a treat. WOW we were not disappointed! Everything from the amazing decor to the lovely friendly staff and the LOVELY food, just blew us away. The original music and the instructional videos on an early tele added to the experience. We will most definitely be back soon! Thanks :
Wonderful tea room with the best service and attention to detail. This is a must for anyone! Good value for money and great scones with a cream tea.
Staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. The decor too is one of a kind and I personally adored the little jumper my tea pot was wearing. However, both the tea itself and the scone were quite mediocre and the clotted cream far too hard so this place gets 4 stars from me.
Wonderfully nostalgic and beautifully crafted cafe that delivers exactly what you would expect to find. Simple menu reflecting the style and tastes of the theme. Lovely staff all in suitable attire for period. Homely, warming and friendly.
Visited Ramsgate today, popped in and what a gem, nice little touches loved the staff's dress code, will definitely go there again.
Lovely cosy atmosphere. Food was good and the staff friendly. I will definitely visit again. Nice touches like: old TV playing black and white programmes, war time music playing, alot of attention to decor and even a handy pair of scissors to help with pesky sachets!
A big surprise!! I was in Ramsgate and was gasping for a cuppa. Saw a sign for tea rooms and rushed in. It was like I had just walked out of the Tardis into the 1930s. Wonderful attention to details for a war time themed tea room. The owners had lovingly thought out and sourced many items from this time period. I had a cheese and pickle sandwich, scone and a pot of tea all for £10.95. Absolutely delighted to receive real tea in a china pot with a hand knitted tea cosy on it. It came with a tea strainer and was loose leaf tea. Milk in a glass jug and sugar in an antique glass jar. The cheese and pickle sandwich was freshly made and came with a generous side of salad and crisps. I also ordered a home made fruit scone which was delicious thinking the sandwich wasn't enough, my mistake. The menu was authentic to the time period with "spam" sandwiches which I thought was hilarious. More importantly all the food is home made from scratch. In every pot with the sauce sachets was a little pair of scissors to snip the end of the sachets, a very nice touch! Staff were very attentive and made me feel welcome. I ate my food and watched an old bakelite tv in the corner. The whole thing reminded me of visiting my nan on Sunday afternoons. Heartily reccomend and well done to the owners!!!!!
What a lovely surprise! We were seeking somewhere to shelter from the cold in Ramsgate High Street and found this lovely tea room! The decor is amazing - as you look around you find more and more detail, all related to 1940’s era. The staff at Home Front were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed their High Tea - thankfully it is not style over the substance! The sandwiches, scones and tea were all delicious. The cakes displayed on the side board also looked very tempting! We will definitely be returning soon and would recommend.
Lovely tea rooms with fantastic authentic decor. Staff friendly. Loads to look at!
Absolute dream, have been researching 1940's eateries, Lyons tea shop was just around the corner from this tea room. Staff very knowledgeable and able to buy Christmas presents for sister in law. Cannot wait to go again.Food: 5/5
