The Hinds Head
"A picturesque village made famous by its unusually principled vicar, Bray is about as British as it gets – and nowhere more so than The Hind’s Head, which has been serving the inhabitants and all manner of visitors since the 1400’s, when it was first established as a hunting lodge and coaching inn.Our menus reflect this illustrious and highly individual lineage, offering versions of classic British dishes – the famous and the unjustly forgotten – all cooked with exceptional technical dexterity and consummate culinary imagination. In our Michelin-starred restaurant, the classics truly come alive."

Lovely restaurant so full of character. Waiting staff were excellent. We were given 4 course meal gift as red letter day but they made you feel no different to if you were paying yourself. So polite and friendly and welcoming. Very attentive without being too attentive. Knew the menu well and could explain the dishes perfectly without having to check everything. Perfect with allergens knew exactly what was in each dish without having to check with chef and excellent alternatives provided. A lovely little touch with a happy anniversary board. Would 100% recommend this restaurant. It was a lovely memorable special Occasion and everything was top quality with super knowledgeable pleasant, friendly and welcoming staff - thank you
Had a fantastic meal here and was definitely worth it. The menu has a wide range of items so there is something for everyone. It's on the pricer side of a meal so expect to pay for the quality of food you get however it was certainly worth it. The scotch egg was by far the tasty so do try it. Great cuts of meat and perfectly cooked. I do agree with other reviews that the triple cooked chips were disappointing, a few of them were impossible to even put a fork through as they were so "crispy" on the outside. The staff were excellent and very attentive despite it being very busy. The quality of service is 5 star for sure. The atmosphere was good as it was busy but its very much a traditional pub when you walk in and the atmosphere reflects that as does the seating, benches and table. Will happily return when looking for top service and excellent food again. Parking: There is parking outside and also its own car park right across the way down a side street that is well sign posted. Dietary restrictions: The staff were very good at asking at the start about any dietary requirements however we had now.
We got two fish and chips and we got two pieces of high quality fresh fish, tasty chips and a set of house made sauces with fresh tasting ingredients. Nice and welcoming people and a relaxing atmosphere. Was a bit on the pricey side though. £28 per fish and chips meal, but possibly that's what you must pay for a decent quality food these days Parking: a little road side in front of the pub
Impeccable service from start to finish. Every staff member I encountered was polite, happy and eager to help. Small touches like returning to the table to find your napkin neatly folded, staff asking what your favourite part of each course was, and explanations of the thinking behind various elements of the dishes all added up to a very welcoming experience. The environment is lovely, with a very traditional "old pub" feel with plenty of space around tables making it feel intimate but not crowded. The food was very good indeed, an excellent a la carte menu with enough variety to please most tastes. The menu is a nice mix of traditional "pub like" dishes and more refined options. An all round delightful experience, well worth the 3.5 hour drive!
Excellent experience, really enjoyable time, from the beautiful building itself to the great service and food! The staff were very attentive and extremely professional, the food was really high quality and very well presented. The atmosphere was really nice, couldn't recommend it more for a high end lunch :Food: 5/5
Absolutely amazing! A family friendly pub/restaurant 1 Michelin Star. I have to recommend the ox tail and kidney pudding, out of this world! The fish and chips were equally tasty, crunchy and comes with triple cooked chips. The kids had pasta and fish fingers with chips. The service was impeccable and ambience was warm and lovely. Heston has made a 1 Michelin Star accessible to families in a space that doesn't mind having kids around! If you just want a coffee or tea in a quieter space, head up stairs to their lounge with comfortable chairs and a view of the Fat Duck Restaurant.
I celebrated my sons birthday yesterday at this lovely restaurant! The atmosphere was comforting with real fires burning on a very cold night. The food and drink was lovely and each of us had different dishes so we could try more of the menu. Pity we were full but next time bar snacks and the famous scotch egg will be tasted!
Had lunch here today. Food was lovely but was a little disappointed that the only staple available to order was chips. Didn't really go with the lamb. Not everyone is a fan of chips. Also still looking for a cheeseboard that isn't the inevitable goats cheese blue cheese cheddar brie combo.Service: 5/5
Extraordinary experience in Village Bray! Best fish and chips ever! Good look & feel of all meals. Service is something to take a part - super professional and polite people working there. Loved it!Food: 5/5
Went to The Hinds Head for lunch because the Fat Duck was closed over the festive period. Given Heston’s reputation we were expecting incredible food and service and it was delivered and more. Fantastic experience all round and would recommend to anyone.
