Went with my other half for dinner and wasn't disappointed. The pork belly was fab - nice and tender and full of flavour - the crackling tuile was an added bonus! The chicken Katsu curry was very much enjoyed by my other half, and the salmon and risotto was cooked to perfection. First time we've eaten in the pub and it felt comfortable and relaxing. The interior is tasteful and there's a log burner which I'm sure is is great in the winter. Very much enjoyed my pint of Guinness to boot. Staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Will most certainly be going back again! Kid-friendliness: Smaller portions were available. Colouring books, crayons & games were available. Parking: Directly outside for at least 15 vehicles.
Beautiful, modern country pub. Excellent service from happy staff and good Sunday food... an easy 5 stars from us, thank you. But shall we be rushing back for more anytime soon? Probably not, sadly. Although very elegantly presented the meals were warm rather than hot, served on barely warm plates. The quantity of meat was positively stingy. My partner chose the beef which was served pink and there was blood running through the gravy. I don't really understand this fashion of serving pink roast beef: it's just tough and difficult to cut and chew... what's the point? Unless it's Sirloin perhaps. But Topside? Nar, it just doesn't work! The plates were crying out for something green and I thought perhaps a side dish to share of chopped Savoy cabbage and broccoli, I'm no chef but it needed something. Anyway there was loads to love about the Hind's Head but the Sunday Lunch market is competitive and I'm afraid to say we know plenty of establishments which serve a consistently more satisfying meal. Keep up the good work and I hope you find this review constructive and helpful.
We had an incredible meal on Saturday, portion sizes were excellent, the staff were super lovely, and the quality of the food was honestly perfect! This dog friendly pub has it all, the restaurant and bar tables offer a variety of different eating experiences to suit any occasion, the staff are always really lovely and jolly, and the new selection of food is amazing too! I can't recommend this place enough as I really think it has something for everyone.
Met with my sister for lunch, who brought along her dog. We walked into a beautifully decorated and warm pub, with real lit fires and a warm welcome from Amy and Jo. I had the Seabass which was delicious and a very good portion size. Finnished with a bakewell tart that went down a treat. Will definitely back in the near future to try more of the dishes from the menu.
What a fantastic pub the Hinds Head is ! Just had our post Xmas work get together here and it was awesome !! Big thank you to Jo & her team for lovely food , great service and fab atmosphere. We all really enjoyed it & will defiantly be back Cheers
Bit disappointed that there wasn't a starter menu on a Sunday, and the mains menu was very limited. It was explained to us that this was due to staff shortage. Sad because the HH was always a very busy place in the past for dining.Food: 5/5
The food was absolutely delicious and presented very nicely. It is cooked to order and you could tell as everything was fresh and hot. The lady behind the bar seemed a little miserable however, she did appear to be doing everything herself - making drinks, taking orders and serving the food so that could be why!!! The food was so good though, that I cannot rate it any lower. Compliments to the chef!
Christmas Day meal was simply amazing. Staff so friendly and efficient. Can't fault the place at all but compliments to the chef - the food was superb
In a beautiful setting with a lovely garden. Drinks were inexpensive with different craft ales. We had the Sunday lunch menu. I had the salmon and it was beautifully cooked. Lots of lovely vegetables on the table. Everything was piping hot and only £11.50. Highly recommend.
Had delicious Sunday lunch. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere, very clean.
