Visited here as a surprise for some friends whom we knew were staying there as they live in Spain and come over to santa Pod every year. We absolutely loved the place dating well over 400 yrs.nThe old features creaky stairs, yes, a bit worn in places, but that's what you expect for a very old hotel!! We had a lovely weekend and was looked after very well by the 2 lovely lady's that were on . One had just started she was a joy. We ate and the food was hot and very nice.nThey where ment to have a disco on the Saturday night but were let down. We where not to bothered but they put money in the juke box and said to play what any one liked. Which was nice as they didn't need to. Slept ok room was lovely a bit hot for my liking had the window open but karaoke from another bar kept me awake.!! shower was spot on and breakfast was nice. Me and my husband would definitely visit again.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation had been recently modernised. The breakfast was adequate, though its presentation lacked care and attention to detail. Sadly the hotel is in need of basic maintenance: our toilet and shower did not work properly so we had to be given access to another room. Two of our room windows were screwed shut, and the hardware on the third window, which did open, was hanging off. There was mould on the shower tile grouting. The entrance to our room, directly from the courtyard car park, needed to be swept and weeded.
Staff were super friendly. When you first enter the hotel it looks old and fitting with the period it was built. I went into the room and was pleased to see the room was modern and clean. Fantastic standard. The car park is a little diffic
Lovely modern and clean room. Restaurant wasn't open due to staff illness but reception were very helpful in recommending somewhere alternative to eat. Very pleased with our stay
Our room was awful, there were someone’s socks left on the window, spiders and cobwebs everywhere the cobwebs must have been there for months bed was uncomfortable & when I told the receptionist, he offered a complimentary breakfast which was included in the price anyway definitely will not be going back
