I have visited The High Nature Centre several times now, at varying stages of having children and being pregnant. The yurts were out of this world, incredible attention to detail and the bed was soo comfortable, I was 5 months pregnant on one trip and slept amazingly. It was a beautiful experience for both my son and now daughter, to be truly immersed in nature. My son enjoys coming here every year, as there is so much space to breathe and relax. The poly tunnels offer a great communal space to meet other people and share stories of the day, and if on the odd occasion it has rained it gives you room to engage in games and activities, whilst having your own private space in your yurt. The facilities are clean and of a great camping standard, and Cat is a fantastic host! We enjoyed the area of Salcombe, the beaches were incredible and the Jurassic coastline is a truly wonderful experience to come to. If you make it to the "pigs nose' pub, you know you have also found a perfect piece of history, its quirky doors have been host to many a superstar. See you in August!

I'm a frequent visitor and get here when I can. Fantastic set up with great shared kitchen, the yurts are laid out so that you can be in your own little world if you want to. The location is also magic. You're surrounded by stunning coastal, cliff and woodland walks, pale sanded coves and beaches where you can often be the only visitor, some nice places to eat, if you don't fancy cooking, along with the legendary Pig's Nose family pub, it's a bit of paradise, as far as I'm concerned.

I visited here with a five year old, a two year old and a four month old in summer 2015. I was a bit nervous as hadn't "camped" before, and had no idea what to expect. To he honest my main worry was the shared kitchen and the safety of my food! The kitchen is close to the field, very clean and well equipped. There didn't seem to be any danger that my food would be taken - everyone was very friendly and polite. (And most people were barbecuing feast and making lovely salads and really had no interest in our weetabix and fish fingers!). The children were so happy to be able to run round safely and play with the other kids, and there were some really fun things to do in the polytunnel- especially the magical dwelling places. The close by beaches are gorgeous - one within walking distance (not that we walked it, and you couldn't get to beach level with a buggy- a sling definitely in order, unless there's another route) which is very peaceful with sheep and cliffs around it. One ten minutes drive (or a longer walk, definitely doable with a buggy) has a food place, a ferry across to the town and other stuff going on. The town is very nice- lots to do. I was also nervous of the showers and the toilets but actually all were very clean and it was really nice going across the field in the morning to the showers and walking back through the wildflower "walls" separating the yurts. The yurt was nice and warm - especially if you go to the owners crying that you can't build a fire cause the baby won't let you put her down, and they kindly do it for you. All in all it was a lovely experience. I highly recommend it and I wouldn't hesitate to go every school holidays if it were closer. We'll definitely be back.

Just re-booking again for this year. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay last year and fully recommend a visit for anyone wanting to get close to the glorious Devon coast whilst having a unique camping experience. The campsite is a fully functional permaculture site with lots of hands on opportunities to participate in activities on site, and fantastic learning opportunities from the really well versed owner (Cat). The Yurts are to die for. Beautifully decorated in a wonderfully simple manner with a lush wood burner to keep the chill of any night spent under the clear top circle of the Yurt gazing at the stars. The shared kitchen was clean, tidy and a great hub to meet the other guests. It's a simple short walk down to the utterly amazing beach at the bottom of the hill, this beach is practically private in feel and has a low sloping shelf meaning shore swimming is easy. This place has very much a back to nature feel which was great for our three year old with plenty of space to run about and yet not be confined to a boring synthetic tent. Love, love loved it and like I said, booking again now (hence leaving review). Andy Ward, Worthing.
