Comfortable oasis in rather a non happening town. A ten minute walk from the main railway station. Pub was spacious and well set out. Easy to find somewhere comfortable to enjoy a drink or food. Quick service, decent staff and clean tables! Well worth the time taken to give a good review. Nice historical building as well.

Never seen the staff wipe down a table during the day and you have to take prior customers dirty glasses / cups off your table yourself if you want space for your own. Wasn't busy or short staffed, just bad service. Good food and good value but expect dirty tables each visit.

Reasonable prices as you'd expect at Wetherspoons...OK for a quick drink, but on the 3 occasions I visited, there were uncleared tables and those which were cleared weren't cleaned! Sticky tables! Food average, but reflected in the price.

Just had breakfast. The best fried eggs by far. Well done chef. Angie and Malcolm in sunny Workington.

Served good value fish and chips with peas but the place was looking shabby. Good value if you can cope with the down at heel decor and some of the other clientele. The coffee is exceptionally good value at 99p for a takeout coffee. Even better value is the sit in coffee at £1.20 but with free refills until 2 pm. This allows people accompanying shoppers to sit and wait in comfort stocking up on caffeine until their loved ones call to be picked up!
