I came as a guest of a private room party for a child's baptism celebration. First impressions of the place were powerful in a very good way. The whole place is enormous. Massive rooms, one with pool tables, nice paintings and decors, tables were not pushed too close together which is appreciated. The garden, again, a massive space with lots of seats available. Private room also served the party's purpose well. We had all we needed. Heated trays with delicious sriracha chicken and battered couliflower, rice, sauces and chips. All tasted great. Most staff members were nice, friendly and smiley. Then to lavatories... Such a huge venue should have at least double amount of cubicles available. The toilet bowls, washbasins and urinals were clean but the walls, floors, doors and ceiling were in terrible and disgusting condition. Stickers, graffiti, cobwebs, paint peeling off or worn out, posters torn, everything dirty and not taken care of. It totally ruined the overall image of the venue and was the reason to drop one star - sadly.
Honestly, I cannot speak any more highly of this pub. We rented out the upstairs and the staff have been amazing, so helpful and cooperative. The hired room itself was big, classy, beautifully decorated and had a great bar area. Shout out to Bradley for being so helpful and approachable and for Nelly who single handedly ran the bar upstairs for us with a smile.
We went here on NYE, and it was nice & bustling, modern boozer with a traditional edge - lots of atmosphere and the footie showing. Us and kids had a good time, lots of families, and kids changing area was pukka! :
Atmosphere is very nice, but the food is just ridiculously bad. I paid £12 for a sad dry burger with old slaw under the patty on plastic plate. This is how its actually came, with nothing on the side.
Great pub. Great for football. Delicious food. It can get incredibly busy on a big matchday and is a bit of a crèche but well worth a trip. Yorkshire's always a good sign of a roast as well...
I’ve been a regular of this pub for a few years now and I must say the service has always been impeccable and consistent, especially from the brilliant manager Tara! She always goes above and beyond to be hospitable supported by her team. Whether you are a local or not you must visit the Heathcote for an exceptional experience!
Very good Thai food! Social distancing is well observed. Outdoor heating is in place too! We didn't pre book being a Monday. There were several free tables available in the evening! Everyone was happy to be there!
It’s good to see that the big screen has been moved into a new position which works so well. However, it was frustrating when I had phoned in advance by several days to book a prime spot in front of the screen for the football, only to find my reservation all the way at the back in the corner which defeated the purpose of securing that spot. Also, slow service at the bar at quiet points I.e. do you really need two people to serve one person?
Had my boyfriends surprise birthday on Saturday, it went off without a hitch! Tara was so helpful and responsive and we all had an amazing night. Good food, and really easy going staff, the space is huge so you don’t feel crowded. Can’t thank Tara enough for all the help, Steph, Emma and Sean were fab too! So helpful and kind throughout the night. Thank you again!
A great Friday night here- local group, ‘the sing song club’ made a great night, we danced and sung to karaoke and it was a right laugh! Drinks are decent price and I’ve been told by my friends that the food was good too although I didn’t have any myself.
