Ate here last night. Excellent all round. Service was top notch, friendly and attentive. Lots of staff on hand too. A big difference on when we last visited a few years ago. The place was full by the time we left. We started with a sharer plate of nachos, which was great, all ingredients looked and tasted fresh. For main we both had steak, one sirloin, one rib eye, both cooked and seasoned perfectly. With loads of fresh homemade chips and fresh veg and salad. We were very full after all that but made room for the Ferrero Rocher brownies, these are to die for! A must try! Nice to eat a meal these days where it felt like no corners were cut, everything was fresh and done to make the meal perfect E.g. Fresh chopped garnish and mozzarella on the nachos not just dried parsley or just cheddar, lots of homemade chips & fresh veg, extra melted chocolate on the side of the dessert etc. etc. The price isn't cheap, but it felt about the right for the quality and amount you get.
Lovely food & service, a little pricey but worth it.
What a delight this place is. Everything cooked how you asked for it and top notch service. Great quality food, would recommend.
I would have offered this place 5 stars had it not have been for the waiting time. I had a table booked for 7pm and arrived at 6.50pm the restaurant area was nearly empty but we were told to wait in the bar area. We were ready to order straight away but had to wait for the other tables to decide what they wanted to do before we were even considered. It was close to 9.45pm before we got our food, try explaining to 3 year old twins who are tired and very hungry by this point that you can't get things moving any quicker. The food was absolutely amazing, couldn't fault it at all and was worth waiting for but not to the extent we did. Based on our experience we won't be visiting again.
We went for a Sunday roast. Our first visit. We found the food average, a bit overpriced. The staff were helpful and nice but didn't appear to be happy in their work. As we were the only people in there a party of 14 I can't really comment on the atmosphere. Don't think we will be going back unless we win the lottery.
Pub like atmosphere, dated interior. Spacious layout of tables so your not crammed next to other tables, the menu again is very dated reminds me of a 90's pub grub menu, although the steaks were very good and cooked right first time, the wait was a little long for good coming out. The manager lady should not be in a position like this, she finds it difficult to understand customers and she gives off an angry persona.
Birthday meal for 12. Absolutely perfect - Restauranteur & her staff were all super friendly & polite. Restaurant itself was nice, modern and clean. Food was exceptional - Every member of our party enjoyed every aspect of the meal. I also got to eat for free with it being my birthday - Check their promotions, there's usually some kind of offer going on. Looking forward to coming here again.
We had fillet steak, though the mains were excellent quality the sweets were really poor, my strawberry cheesecake was sloppy. The customer service from the proprietor made us feel uncomfortable. The final bill for two steaks, two starters and couple of drinks came to £88.00 which we thought was expensive.
Great food, superb home made desserts, highly recommended whether going as a couple or a group. Can't believe it has taken me this long to try it but then again it is a little off the beaten track. An absolute gem, track it down, you won't be disappointed.
Travelled from Hull tonight to this steakhouse recommended by a friend only to be told they had stopped selling food at 8.30pm yet the two ladies infront of us at the bar had just ordered steaks . I told the woman working behind the bar we had travelled from Hull and I stated there was no reference to the kitchen being closed at 8.30pm it states food served til late . She also stated you have to book in advance , this was also not stated on the web site. Apaulled by the fact we waited behind a couple who was ordering food ,no eye contact whatsoever and no apologies , there was only 2 of us and only wanted a standard steak nothing special . I could understand if we were a large party to walk in off the cuff to order food . Service a total and utter joke .
