As always an excellent experience, but I am biased as I'm a West Brom fan! You are searched as you go in and security staff make sure it's a woman who searches you if you are female. They are very pleasant and friendly and you can have a laugh with them. Once inside the ground, all food and drink outlets are now card only and are fairly expensive, but as you can't take your own drinks or food in all bags are searched before entering the stadium it's just something you have to put up with. The coffee is fairly decent and nice and warm. There are a series of steps that take you into the stands or for disabled fans there is a corridor which takes you to the bottom of the stand. Unfortunately this time, because I was late getting a ticket, I had to sit quite high up which is difficult if you have limited mobility. It's best to try and sit in the lower parts of the stands, apart from the Halfords Lane stand which isn't too high. Staff will help you as much as they can, and there are stewards specifically trained to help. There is a quiet room that is available for fans who may need it. There are disabled toilets in the corridor leading to the Birmingham Road End stand which is where we sit when attending matches, there is also a wider cubicle in the ladies toilets in the stand. They are kept immaculately clean. Great atmosphere and friendly fans make it a good experience when attending matches. There is a lot of car parking spaces around the stadium, we normally park in the old factory right next to the stadium as it isn't a long walk for me. Parking is normally around £5.00 and is fairly secure. There is also a railway station and Midland Metro stop right by the ground, if traveling by bus the number 74 bus goes past the ground from Birmingham to Dudley, although be aware that the Dudley service is diverted after the end of the match as the road is closed to allow pedestrians to use the Birmingham Road to leave the ground quickly and safely. The 88 service is about a 5 - 10 minutes walk from the ground between Bearwood and West Bromwich. There are plenty of burger bars around the ground on match day, one inside the East Stand car park as well, personally I think the best one is between the car park we park on and the ground, their burgers are excellent, really filling! There is a McDonald's directly opposite the ground, and a Starbucks and Costa Coffee within easy walking distance.
Great ground! Normally a great atmosphere too! Easily accessible. Concourse food and drinks kiosks are quite good although they have slightly higher prices than outside the ground. All these kiosks are card only as the stadium is cashless. Good club shop and ticket office located in the East Stand.
Nice ground, I was surprised it seemed so small, it had been a long time since my last visit. Didn't get much time to explore as coach dropped us off after the gates had opened and it was quite busy. Seats and view excellent, little did we know what was about to kick off. My visit was for WBA v Wolves, I was in the away end. It was shocking to see how the home fans were able to get onto the field of play and move around from stand to stand when trouble broke out, as well as throwing bottles at the players. Not enough stewards/security/police? Lucky enough all's well that ends well. Hope any one found guilty of being in the pitch, or affray of either fans get Lifetime bans.
Decent enough Championship ground. 26.6k capacity. Not modern but not old. Easy to get but traffic can be difficult. Easy getting in and out of the centre of Birmingham on trams and trains. Have visited multiple times as an away fan. Found this ground to be of the least tolerant from WMP and stewards. Can be quite cramped in the awayend, especially if your club sells out the full 2k allocation. Terrible selection of alcoholic drinks; Carling and Stowford Press in a plastic bottle for £5, terrible.
Normal choas on the M5/M6 to get here. Found street parking. Small concourse area, only just over 2k away fans allowed. View was good from where we were seated. So can't complain about that. The ground is pretty small considering WBA history, local teams like Wolves, Villa and Coventry have larger stadium. Getting out after we were directed away from were our car was parked, ages to get away severe traffic jams again.
Attended the ESFA elite schools cup u15s and the hospitality shown by West Bromwich Albion was fantastic and made the whole experience amazing for the boys and there families.
Great experience to watch the team training at the Hawthorns, with fun football related activities laid on and face painting. Loved it.
Great game today Baggies
Lovely ground, friendly staff, everything that you would need and like for a football ground and club.
A great stadium fit for the Premier League. Stewards were great to us Aldershot Town fans.
