I've been here in both winter and summer and have always found the place warm and welcoming. The food is brilliant, and the beer selection is great. The outdoor area is good for summer outings with children and dogs. The views are stunning. There is a bus stop up the road so you can go even if you haven't a car, though the driveway is fairly steep so it would be difficult for people with limited mobility.

Fantastic choices of food tonight took so long to choose from the menu so I stuck with the fish and chips and had a mint and cucumber fizzy drink. Truly scrumptious!! Not forgetting the amazing mushrooms and cheese starter. Better than the Manchester markets mushrooms them! Really friendly staff and incredible chocolate brownie dessert. Had to roll myself out the door I was that full!  Fish and chips by far the best I've had in a very long time. Love how it's so local to Mossley where I've just moved with my girlfriend who had an amazing meal as well! Thanks so much for a great first time experience! See you soon!!!!!

This could be so much more. Fabulous location and looks. But seems that they rest on that. Poor service and expensive food that is just average. This place could be the best place for miles around. Shame

Pretty poor, to be honest.
Food was tasty enough, but warm rather than hot.
Drinks took forever to arrive - & given that second "round" was 2 glasses of tapwater & a pint of beer - which was ordered as food arrived & we didn't get until we'd finished our main course!! If the pub had been really busy, then that, maybe, would have been understandable, but it was largely empty, so no excuse.
Staff had obviously never been taught to smile & when we were asked if everything had been ok & I replied (politely) that it had taken a long time to get the second lot of drinks, I received a very sullen "well I didn't pour them" as a response.
Perhaps a  customer service course is required.
This used to be a half decent place for something to eat & drink, but its somewhere that will be a very long time before I return
I'd have given one star, except for the fact that my steak was actually very tasty... which makes all of the above so frustrating to type.

Welcoming, warm, dog friendly and clean. Food and drink great and decent prices. Highly recommended.
