On a boating holiday with a friend and we had made arrangements to meet up with another friend in Wheaton Aston. Booked a table for 6 online and arrived 15 minutes before our time, but the table was ready. Pub was quiet as it was only 17:30, and we were seated. The food was delicious and everyone cleared their plates including the children. One of them ordered pizza and I honestly thought he wouldn't finish it as it was quite big. It came with chips and he ordered an extra portion thinking the pizza would be of a small size!!! Wrong, but he managed to eat it all including the extra chips. If passing this way again I will definitely stop here again. Staff were very pleasant and the food was excellent.
We visited The Hartley Arms yesterday evening and was really impressed. The food was excellent, I had the sea bass, new potatoes and green beans. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The atmosphere within the pub is hospitable and merry. My daughter who is nearly two came with us and was welcomed by both staff and other customers. They all made such a fuss of her, she loved the attention. Would definitely return here in the near future as our visit was very pleasant and the food is amazing. Kid-friendliness: Staff and fellow customers were excellent with my toddler. Engaged with her and were very welcoming.
Our 1st time here today. Lovely position next to the canal. All the staff were friendly & welcoming. Food was amazing. I had the ciabatta bread off the lunch menu & my other half had the chicken kebab. Definitely going again.
Midweek visit lunchtime visit so 4 star "atmosphere". Quiet stroll along the canal with the dog, finishing back at The Hartley. Staff very friendly and pleasant, happy for us to park on car park before Walk. Lunchtine food very good, had the Farmer's Platter for two. Nice selection of beers and lagers, plus Inch's cider, perfect to wash down the meal while sitting at a table overlooking the canal. Parking: Plenty to rear of pub Wheelchair accessibility: Easy rear access from car park
Came here today for Sunday lunch food was very nice staff was very welcoming owner came over for a chat what a lovely pub with great food and customer services. Highly recommendedFood: 5/5
Great and well managed pub who looked after our large table of guests food and drinks orders really well. Friendly and happy staff team. Thank you for doing your best for us & keep up the great work!Food: 4/5
The chips were burnt. All in all it was terrible. We complained and were told the potatoes had a high sugar content and this was why they were burnt. However they still felt able to charge £13.50. We said we couldn't eat it and were given a full refund for the meal. We won't be going again.
Lovely pub, right on the side of the Shropshire union canal. We moored up very close by plenty of mooring and booked for an evening meal. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, choose steak and chips,, cooked to perfection,, so delicious and tasty. Highly recommended
I delivered a cocktail bar on Friday liked the look of place so drove back 30 miles on Saturday and my wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal.Food: 5/5
Went in tonight and ordered lasagna and hunters chicken. The lasagna was a vegetarian when beef was ordered. The chicken was raw. The onion rings were cold as well as the plates that the food came out on. Not a great experience and such a bizarre concept that you have to request a menu from the bar. Doesn't create a welcoming environment when you haven't been in years.
