Great pub, like most of Ireland it's quite a bit pricier than back in England, but great food and drinks. I had the days special of bacon and cabbage with mashed potato. That was €14 so not bad and tasted lovely.
Popped in here on a recommendation from the Glasshouse. From the outside it looks understated, but warm and friendly inside. We had originally planned to just have a quick pint and move on, but was so welcoming we stayed the night. Food was good value, well presented and great quality. We both had a Cajun burger, that was excellent. Guinness, was as always in Ireland, tasted so much better than back in the UK.
The ambience of the pub is amazing, with a great vintage vibe that transports you back in time. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with comfortable seating and a cozy fireplace. Despite the limited vegetarian options, the food that is available is delicious and the selection of drinks is impressive. Overall, it's a great place to relax and unwind with friends.
Trip Advisor wasn't wrong when they listed the Harp Tavern as the #1 place to eat in Sligo. Just a 2 minute walk from our hotel we walked in on a Saturday afternoon into the busy gastro pub. Luckily there was 1 table left and we were seated immediately. We browsed over the menu whilst enjoying a crisp pint and ordered the burger and chips and pepperoni pizza with onion rings, chips and curry sauce. I barely made it half way down my pint before our food was served. Visually, it was stunning and it tasted even better. The perfectly cooked half pound burger had to be eaten with a knife and fork as it was simply too massive to be tackled by hand. The chips were triple cooked and triple the quality of many I have been served before. Satisfied and full bellied we asked for the bill, eager to see what else the great Sligo town had to offer. The remarkably low price of 42 euros made it not only a wonderful place to eat, but also great value for money.
AMAZING! Everything was just so perfect, service was very nice and the waitress that served us was so kind with us, considering we aren't native speaker! Beer is good, same for meat and we also had salmon, dish of the day Suggested: apple pie, served with whipped cream and ice cream. Also, if you have allergies they will tell the kitchen and everything will be fine. LOVED IT Price was fine for 4 people
We were really excited to try this place out as such good reviews and food looks amazing. Staff lovely and accommodating and we were seated immediately. However when steak was ordered, we weren’t asked the preference of cooking and it arrived well done ie overcooked and dry. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive - which would normally not be an issue but looking back it was probably the steak cooking time. We also asked for water for the table which never arrived. And most concerning - no access to nappy changing facilities for men
The view is amazing however I cannot say the same thing about the food especially the cheesecake is horrible poor poor looking taste. I don’t recommend this place.
A great place to dine or just relax and have a few drinks. The staff are very friendly just can't do enough for you. The food is delicious and very appealing. It is best to book a table as it is very popular Food: 5/5
Four of us were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The menu offered a varied selectio, with the added specials there was something to suit all. The food was very good. Would highly recommend The Harp
Nice comfortable clean bar with good pints, good atmosphere, good food, excellent staff and if that's not enough reasons to go then wait till you meet Ann the woman responsible for Ireland's good reputation for visitors being welcomed and looked after.
