We went there for mother-in-law's birthday lunch. Though she'd booked a table, we had to wait for about an hour (the place was absolutely packed) before we could get our table and further half an hour before we could eat. On top of that, they didn't have any kids menu but at the end even our fussy eater was so hungry that he was happy to try new things (maybe that's the trick?). The food was decent though I couldn't cut the roast potatoes, I had to slaughter them. I really hope that I don't have to go to that place ever again, I'd rather cook for my in-laws and invite them over...

Lovely building. Good selection of hand pulled beers including Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Very friendly staff well worth a visit.

We have stayed here a few times before over the last 4years whilst visiting from overseas, and generally it's a good hotel. We even booked for Christmas dinner for the last 2 years on the trot. 
 But on this occasion the room had so many faults with it, toilet never flushed, shower was slow, room was cold due to poor window installation and insulation , we had to use a fan heater to stay warm as the radiator hardly worked and was set yo maximum . They also expect you to lug your luggage up 2 fights of stairs, with no porter or help. When checking out and after being asked how was your stay by the girl at the desk instead of  dealing with a complaint the young girl said to a member of staff you can deal with this and walked away then the other lady took some notes no apology nothing! 
Poor service a real shame.
