I went to the Hanoi Bike Shop for the first time in a couple of years and was very disappointed. I remembered it as a great eatery with good quality food for good prices, but it seems like things have changed quite a lot recently. After 30 minutes of waiting and multiple staff telling us they’re were looking for the allergen menu they were finally able to bring it to us. Apparently there’s only one allergen menu for the entire restaurant. I ordered pork belly and potato fritters for a total of £27 18 for the pork belly and 9 for the potatoes. As you can see from the pictures the cost vs the amount of food I received don’t really seem to match. While the pork belly was absolutely amazing, it’s simply not enough to feed an adult. The fact it came with two vegetables didn’t do much to satiate me either. There were 5 five!!!! potato fritters!! For £9?! I wouldn’t even have minded if they had tasted good, but they ended up being incredibly bland. They didn’t even taste of potatoes… I have no idea how you can make something like potato fritters not taste like anything What happened to this place? When I got home I was still so hungry I ended up making myself a sandwich.
This place is fantastic!! So tasty and authentic. The vibe is cozy, the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was out of this world! We had the wok fried greens with water chestnuts, black pepper tofu, vegan pho and sweet potato fritters. Really big portions too so good for sharing or hungry peeps! The menu had loads of vegan options on and many items that could be made vegan too. Highly recommend if you’re in Glasgow. You will not be disappointed. Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gf options Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Had a lovely meal here on a sunny Tuesday evening. Food was so delicious! it comes when its made, meaning you get your food delivered at a staggered rate. Our server was super nice, and gave good recommendations, which is always appreciated. There’s plenty of good options and tasty, flavour packed dishes - vegetarian options were fab. Satay tofu was definitely our favourite dish of the meal. i’d say come here for a lovely vibe and some tasty, light dishes - oh and a yummy, hot vietnamese coffee!
I went alone on a Thursday evening, the place was busy with lots of people sitting outside and inside. When i went in the waitress was rushed but took the time to acknowledge me and find out what i needed, table for 1 inside. She seemed to be on her own and was super efficient. She gave me a table around the corner with a few tables and occupied by couples. I appreciated that i wasnt planked in the middle of a busy restaurant. She then asked if the table had enough light for me to read the book i was carrying, which I assured her there was. I ordered the wee mussels and sweet potato fritters, a glass of pino grigio and when she brought the wine she asked about my book. The food was delicious, fresh and full of authentic flavours - I was even eating the micro greens to get that holy basil flavour! I will definitely be back, alone or with friends.
Went for dinner. Food was delicious and the portion sizes were really reasonable, particularly for the price. We even had good enough weather to sit outside!Food: 5/5
Had a really lovely dinner, we got beef and tofu phos which were both delicious! Huge portions too. Tofu was a little tough though, must’ve been sitting out too long. Staff were very friendly and helpful, only issue is the benches are quite uncomfortable to sit for long periods. Edit: came back and had the temple tofu and sweet potato fritters which were amazing! The portion of tofu is huge and so delicious. Definitely the best tofu I’ve had.
Visited for lunch, during a trip to Glasgow last week. WOW! Absolutely delicious from start to finish, the “best tofu in Glasgow” certainly lived up to its name, in fact best tofu I’ve had. Beef pho was full of flavour, and the chicken satay was Devine. Great location and vibe, with Fantastic service from Jareen!! Thank you for a wonderful visit!! Highly recommend!! I will be dreaming of the tofu for a long time!
Our first time trying Vietnamese food with their 50% pho & pot & grill meals. Really yummy food & great value at 50% off! The steak bavette was a little underwhelming, needed a bit of rice or something for the price. The beef pho I got extra noodles & an egg & the ginger caramel chicken were really good! Loved the food, not much atmosphere inside which is why I rated it quite low on atmosphere. However, a good spot for a cold day!
Attended with a party of 3, and I have to say I had one of the best dining experiences that I have had in a very long time. Gorgeous tasting Pho, made with clearly fresh and high-quality ingredients, at a very reasonable price. The cocktails were lovely too. I ordered a coconut espresso martini, which was the best espresso martini that I have had before. The wait staff were lovely and very accommodating to common allergies, and can provide an allergy matrix ahead of time to your visit to make sure that you are ordering the correct dishes. Excellent work, and it is a very short walk from the subway, so I will be 100 percent making the effort to come back in the future. Well worth the trip into Glasgow. This is my second visit to Hanoi and we were a bit disappointed by the service last night. My first experience visiting Hanoi with my wife was great and we loved the food and had good service. I raved about it and returned last night with my mother and two brothers. We waited ages for a drink. The food arrived and the waitress spilled the sauce over the table and wiped it up with a napkin. The food was delicious but the most disappointing part of last night was the staff were obviously harassed. They rushed from table to table and the stress ruined the ambiance. This is no criticism of the staff but they were unable to contain the pressure of how busy it was, and this spilled over to the atmosphere. Hanoi is a really great restaurant that is at risk of losing custom as the staff are literally run off their feet. It was unpleasant to watch and ruined a lovely return experience. Our food came to £119 for 4 so an extra member of staff may have just changed the atmosphere last night.
