Went for lunch today. We were so impressed. Such a cozy, beautiful place. We were given a choice between eating in the restaurant or by the fire. We chose to sit near the fire which we loved because it had comfy seats and a good view across the village aswell. The food was beyond tasty and we kept saying if lunch is this good, imagine what dinner would be like! The staff were welcoming and friendly, they made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again very soon and hopefully stay over for the night aswell.
Very rude presumed owner. Popped in for lunch and a beer on Sunday. The pub had two tables in for lunch so wasn’t exceptionally busy. Very rude lady behind the bar refused to take any food orders. We politely asked it was ok and if we could wait for the food whilst having a drink. She made it very clear that we wouldn’t be getting any food within the next few hours in a very rude manner. She also was exceptionally aggressive to a cyclist on his own that asked for a bowl of soup saying “No if everyone who walked through that door wanted soup it would be 20 portions not just one!” I have worked in customer service for over 15 years and would highly recommend this lady attends a customer service course as the way she speaks to people is horrendous.
Very welcoming pub with absolutely beautiful rooms. We stayed in one of the ‘mountain view’ rooms and the view was gorgeous. Tastefully decorated, very comfortable huge bed and a tray of teas and coffees with home made shortbread a nice touch. The hot tub with a view was lovely to sit in after a hard day’s hike up Cadair Berwyn. The bar was cosy with a roaring fire for pre-dinner drinks, and the restaurant deserved it’s great reputation. There was a good selection of ‘specials’; we chose the dover sole and plaice wrapped salmon, and there was also a ‘classics’ menu eg burgers and pies. A very well run place and excellent hosts!!
We came over the top from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant and as I hadn't been here for over 15 years or more, we took a quick "pop in beverage stop"... Good to see that it feels a bit more like the old Hand Inn and not so upmarket and stuffy.... The Hand Inn was always cosy and welcoming and glad to say that it feels more like it's normal self now. We were friendly welcomed by the staff and my Cheshire Cat ale in a handle pint glass was perfectly kept and well served. Glad to say that we'll be back again and even try the food on the restaurant menu next time!

The Hand at Llanarmon is recommended. What a lovely place to stop and eat while on your travels, in the Ceiriog valley one of the prettiest in Wales, A very tranquil location this olde world Inn, boasts great food. Stopped for a sandwich, it was Sunday afternoon. No sandwiches on a Sunday lucky for me I decided to go with the Sunday beef roast. It was yum and done to perfection. The portion was generous, more than I could manage but delicious. Tender beef, crispy roast potatoes with a creamy mash, a good size Yorkshire pudding and some sweet vegetables on the side. Gravy was tasty too. Didn't have to wait long either. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Thank you team
We had a meal here whilst staying nearby, cozy and old fashioned pub area with a stark contrasting posh dining area, nice meal and good portion sizes, would recommend! Only downsize is that it’s very popular with limited parking, there tends to be lots of people parking on the road/path

Booked a half spa day, enjoyed a beautiful Danish pastry on arrival which was so tasty.. followed by a sauna and hot tub session with amazing views, so tranquil. We then had a 2 course meal.. lamb is outstanding! Onto the best massage an facial I have ever had!! The staff are superb, so friendly. Overall the hand is a definitely one to visit.
