Great find in a little village, plenty of parking spaces, food was really good for the price, fresh and tasty. The staff were very friendly and polite. We booked a few weeks in advance and first there at 12noon, they gave us a big table to sit 9 people in a 1 table room.Food: 5/5
Currently at their beer festival and the atmosphere is amazing. Lots of families and older, traditional beer types mixing together my group represent both!. Staff are courteous and take pride in their work, the beer garden is clean and well cared for, the playground equipment is perfect for children. Hog roast was really good, will be back soon to try their normal menu. This could definitely become my pub of choice for the summer!
Such a good country pub! So glad some places like this still retain their character and don’t over-modernise. Really friendly staff and great selection of drinks. The apple pie cider is especially good. Can’t recommend this place enough, stop by, you won’t be disappointed. Just wish I lived closer. Thanks again to all the lovely staff.
Enjoyed a lovely family lunch for 13 on Easter Saturday. The service was helpful and efficient, despite the large number of guests. We had a room to ourselves and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. The fish dish on the specials was delicious and all the food was very reasonably priced. This is the second time the pub has catered for a large group of us and we would have no hesitation in booking again. A lovely, traditional country pub with an excellent selection wines and local beers. Difficult to find a better venue!
We came for Sunday lunch at this great quirky old pub that does lovely food and has a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. A selection of ales, many local, that are second to none and local ciders plus the usual range of other drinks you'd expect. We don't like our food piled high and found the portion sizes just right, nicely cooked and served with a smile. This was our first visit and we're already planning our next visit, we loved it and hope you do too. Be aware, this is a very popular pub and we'd recommend booking a table in advance. Vegetarian options: It's not an extensive menu but does have a decent percentage of veggie options. Parking: Be prepared to park in the field opposite as this is a very popular pub and the car park beside the pub fills quickly.
Been multiple times. Great pub with good food & drinks. Staff always friendly. Good Thursday night live music during summer monthsFood: 5/5
We placed our order at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere of a locals spot. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a great hake fish and chips and the sea bream special was top notch. An incredible building with a mysterious history. Would love to know what the walls have seen!
Visited for their May BH beer and cider festival which was really well run with a great selection. Large outside area and the pub is lovely inside.Service: 5/5
The Halfway House, Brenchley is a niche British pub based in the gorgeous Kent countryside. This pub has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. They have a fantastic selection of drinks from local brewed Ales, Ciders and Lagers. When I’ve had the food it’s been quick to come to the table, hot and delicious. The outside bar and seating area is huge making it a great location to catch up with your friends in the summer. I’ll happily recommend this pub to anyone.
Visiting my mum for Christmas and took her here for lunch. Not only was the food wonderfully cooked but was also generous in portion. Such a quaint and atmospheric little pub hidden in the Kent countryside that was warm and welcoming. Although busy, the staff were friendly, helpful and full of smiles. Highly recommend.
