I can’t put into words where to start how wonderful this pub and staff are. we had my mother’s wake there on the 24th October 2022 and they was just amazing the food that they laid on was out of this world the young girls behind the bar was so lovely and friendly we hired the large hall and it was beautiful. Thank you again everyone that works there. I would 100% recommend
Real pub grub. Excellent service. Bar staff are attentive, fast and extremely polite. This is the way all pubs should be run. It was a stag night so staff were really under pressure but no problem for them at all. Food was fast and very good. We'll done all round.
The gun pub They did us proud for my MUMS wake on the 30/11/22. The staff were brilliant in every detail nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was fantastic the private room was a good size and comfortable. THANKYOU all the staff at THE GUN PUB for making a sad day a little better
Had mum in law’s wake at The Gun on 21st November, 2022. Room was ideal for our gathering. Food fantastic and catered well for vegans and even made a special selection for my gluten free guest. Thank you very much, we were really pleased.
Really delicious Pub food. Great selection of beers, wines and spirits. And the staff were all really friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again soon.
Normally a great place, food always been good . I arrived and parked in the car park noticed some wierd stuff going on in a blue van and white car probably drug taking as they were sucking balloons. Parked closer to the pub and got told its staff parking, I explained the my reason why and all I got was a jumped up staff member saying I couldn't park there. I left as a staff car park is more important than a drug taking car park . Spent forty quid somewhere else.
What a hidden gem ! A good value roast, great service, good portion sizes. And just up the road! Will definitely be visiting again soon.. 10/10
Great atmosphere. Good food , good service and staff were very nice and polite.
Two sittings of Sunday lunch, we went to 4pm sitting, lamb shanks had run out very nice, staff were super attentive, £15 for sunday lunch but more courses available in the offer made it better value for money but we were so full we couldnt eat anything else.. .cauliflower cheese st £5.95 was not good value and the room temperature was a little cool so had to keep cardigon/jackets on, but on the whole we would revisit....
Sunday Dinner. My wife and I went to the Gun as we had passed it several times and read the rave reviews. We turned up and entered the pub when everyone turned to stare at the newcomers. Very uncomfortable. We went into the restaurant and our order was taken quickly. Waited about 45 minutes to arrive. I had the roast chicken which was very dry and tough, suspect frozen roasted potatoes, tough Yorkshire Pudding and a small selection of veg. My wife had the minted lamb shank which had no mint. She asked twice for no peas and the waitress repeated it. When her meal arrived...loads of peas. The decor is very odd. Crystal chandeliers which had more blown bulbs than lit ones and modern lighting. The walls were marked and the carpet looked like it needed to be steam cleaned. Curtains were a throw back to the 50's with tie backs that restricted your ability to eat. Will we go back? Think you know the answer.
