We did not have reservations! We showed up and asked to be seated! The hostess at the front was the utmost courteous and professional! She even went out of her way to figure out what table is booked for lot later so we can be accommodated! Just when we have up hope she asked if we could be done eating by certain time which we knew we would. From the time we sat down all the way to the end of the meal our waitress was just lovely and very accommodating too. She is very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients too!!! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding too! I could not say enough positive things about this establishment as matter fact there is nothing to be grumpy about in here as everyone is just nice and accommodating. I recommend this restaurant and will be back if I am ever back here with the family
Lovely venue and helpful friendly staff. Food delicious altho they did get a couple of items wrong which were rapidly corrected. £128 for 4 no starters or wine. Highly recommended we will return!
We stopped for drink, but on the menu...I found my favourite dessert. : The apple strudel was top quality. This is a really nice place. Five years ago I was regular customer here ...nothing changed. Thank you.
The food was great. Had a smoked salmon baguette that was stuffed full of salmon, not the usual token amount. My friend had the prawn and Marie Rose sauce, again loads of prawns. The desserts were fabulous. The staff were efficient and friendly.
While nothing earth shattering in terms of menu, the execution of the food and service here really is excellent. Highlights were immaculately prepared calamari, french onion soup, and lamb. The steak was also worthy of its fairly firm price. I am looking forward to returning for a pie. Our host had only spoken English for 2 months but was no less effective nor friendly and really cared for us well. Only reluctantly withheld one star as it took a full hour between sitting and first food, though so pleasant was that hour I didn't terribly mind.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Food was top notch and tasted fresh. Personally ordered; Main: Traditional Sri-Lankan Chicken Curry with Garlic Naan and Mango Chutney. Pudding: Homemade Apple Strudel with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Other dishes ordered by the table pictured; Main: Cheese and Bacon Beef Burger with Fries, Slaw and Burger Sauce Dip Cheese and Bacon are additional extras. Puddings: Bread and Butter Pudding with Custard. And Stem Ginger Sponge Pudding with Custard.
Walk here pretty often and stop off for a drink. Always busy, but good service. Could do with a good clean out the front. Well kept good range of beers.
We received a very warm welcome at this Grumpy Mole. We were shown to a cosy table beside a fireplace. Our meals were very nice, although not quite as good as other Grumpy Moles we have tried. I had the lamb rump with Dauphinoise potatoes and my husband opted for the beef roast dinner. For starters we had the soup and potato skins with sour cream. However, the service was slow and at times erratic. The staff agreed that the service should have been better and made a small financial amendment to our bill to compensate. I doubt this kind of slow service is the norm here, as the staff really appear to care about your experience, and made us feel very welcome.
Lovely restaurant and staff. Hosted our office Christmas party there for 30 diners and the food was terrific, portion size was good, service was excellent and we all had a super time! Lots of the group said they would return again to sample the regular menu and you can't have a better recommendation than that!
A lovely Afternoon Tea for two overlooking Brockham Green. Very attentive and polite staff.
