One of the best roast dinners I have ever tasted! The staff were extremely polite and friendly and extremely accommodating. The arena outside is super chill, with "wagons" for a more intimate experience, with heat lamps. Will definitely be back!!Food: 5/5
Absolute shambles of a place. Used to be a nice little pub with decent pub meals. Clearly changed ownership as it's now a wannabe boujee restaurant. Food took a long time to arrive, tiny portion sizes, and menu items including £25 for a small rabbit pie and some broccoli. £150 for 3 people to wait hours to have an average at best meal, when there were 2 other tables of 2 in the place. Waitress didn't check for allergies, breaching legal obligation, checked once how the food was and didn't really respond when told it was mediocre and overpriced. Someone needs their head checking. The bill turned up in an empty passport case?
This is difficult to write as the food is lovely and on this occasion, so were the staff. However this is my second time going to The Greyhound and finding hair in my food. The last occasion was my first visit and I found 2 pieces of hair in 2 different dishes. I was told that it was the first time they have ever found hair in their food? However I returned for the second time, hoping I wouldn’t find hair in my food. However, as we got to dessert, my partner found a hair baked into his dessert. The server did come over and replaced the meal but we were told it’s from the pastry brush and not a human hair as “that would be disgusting”. I would have believed this if this wasn’t the second time I was finding hair in my food here. I’m concerned to think that I cannot be the only person finding hairs in my food before eating it. You would also think that due to the premium pricing of the restaurant, that food quality wouldn’t be this poor. Our meals still cost around £89… Unfortunately I won’t be returning as the redemption visit I tried to give it, was not successful.
*dog friendly* bar area. Lovely meals, cocktails and great service at The Greyhound Finchampstead, as usual. Great spring menu - 2 or 3 courses, £21/ £24. Great food, and great value. Dog treats and water bowl waiting at our table. Love this place.Food: 5/5
The greyhound goes back a very long way for me. I’ve known it for as long as I’ve lived in Finchampstead and that’s coming up to 20 years. I’ve seen it change from hand to hand and it only seems to be getting better. I remember going with my Grandad after school to have a pudding! With a lot of strong competition in the area, The Greyhound is still my go to. My mum, I and my grandad ate on Easter bank holiday Monday and were very satisfied. It was safe to say there was no room for any chocolate after the well-sized portions. The eloquent young lady who partly served us stood out as extremely polite and caring. I have never had bad service here. I’ve been here approximately 50+ times in my lifetime and it never fails to disappoint. The food is always excellent, the staff are very professional and friendly. Even the chairs are exceptionally comfortable, which seems to be rare to find in a pub nowadays! Pat on the back to the Greyhound team!
A nice place with a great selection of classic pub food. The staff were really friendly and service was efficient. The food was of a great quality.Food: 5/5
Lovely food, wine and ambience. It was nice to have a choice with something different on the menu from the normFood: 5/5
Did not quite live up to what it ‘says on the box’ as the menu read wonderfully! Possibly a busy Sunday with too many covers to fully pay attention to flavours and seasoning. Lovely venue, friendly staff, just too many short cuts on ensuring that the food delivered on taste and expectations.
Booked here for a birthday meal and checked reviews prior and certainly lived up to expectations. Ordered a few snacks to share for starters. We all Ordered beef Wellington x 6 as sharing between two it was cooked amazing and all sides accompanied this perfectly. Friendly and helpful service and manged to have table in pub as we have dog with us. The puddings were ok bit disappointed compared with mains. Lovely family celebration dinner and certainly pub to recommend!
Really great food, was a quiet night so only 2 staff working so a little stretched between bar restaurant and the garden, beautiful place and definitely worth a detour for. Excellent lunch offer of £32 for 3 courses including a glass of prosecco.Food: 5/5
