My dad came to Oldbury after he left hospital, he was very poorly but he felt comfortable and content and had a really nice room, we were impressed with every member of staff, the care he received was outstanding, as a family we also received great support and am just so pleased he felt happy and content.
Ide just like to give some praise to the staff working Christmas day in Victoria & Hardwick, They did an amazing job getting all the residents together in the lounge around the tables for lunch together not an easy task. They were happy, excited & inclusive when im sure they would love to be at home with their own familys. Well done all of you.
The Grange Care Centre at Eastington is a secure, safe nursing home set in lovely gardens with wildlife all around such as rabbits, squirrels and deer. It is run by exceptionally caring and friendly staff who accommodate your individual needs and make you feel very welcome.nnMy uncle very reluctantly agreed to go to live in The Grange when it became impossible to look after him in his own home. He had a spacious, bright, en-suite bedroom in Hardwicke Unit which was clean, tidy and comfortable looking out over the courtyard.nnInitially the meals were not to his taste but after discussions regarding choice of menu this was promptly resolved and freshly made cups of tea were available throughout the day whenever he requested it.nnMy biggest concern was the fact that he was extremely unhappy due to boredom. He was taken daily to the sitting room where he could watch a large television with subtitles but no sound. Carers sat amongst the residents but there was little or no conversation. Thankfully after the first week an activity lady invited them all to a sing song in one of the other units. My uncle jumped at the chance. This was the turning point, once aware of him and his requirements the activity ladies ensured that he was taken downstairs every day where it was more lively, he had company and was involved in the activities and entertainment. They also took him for a ride to Saul Junction. It was so pleasing to hear him say how much he had enjoyed it there in the week leading up to Christmas.nnSadly he passed away in February having received the best possible care in the final four months of his life.
Absolutely Loved the Xmas party. The residents looked really cheerful, happy and content. The atmosphere was electric. Cant wait for the next function/party. Well Done to the all the staff at The Grange Center, you outdid yourself. The party could not have been more enjoyable.
Amazing!
