Aestically this is a lovely vintage hotel with nice-sized rooms and friendly staff.nHowever, I would be concerned about staying in the summer.. read on.nnAfter a long day at work, I chose to relax with a bath. After running the tap for 5 or 10 minutes it was still cold. When I contacted the night porter he later explained the boiler had been turned off and was now back on, however it would take 30 minutes to warm up. After waiting an hour or two, it got to midnight and by this point I was too tired. I was later explained to that you can either have the heating on and hot water or nothing at all. Hence my concern for the summer!nnFor breakfast two metal flasks were not labeled so had to guess which one was coffee and hot water. Both of these were not hot at all and were luke warm every morning despite turning up 8am. The food was well cooked but not much variety, and the fresh juice not very pleasant.nnAlso randomly a roll of tinfoil and cigarette materialised under my bed despite having a private sign on my door.nnAgain overall love the aesthetic and nice staff just would not stay for work again especially as they don't have a dedicated restaurant for evening meals.
TV doesn't work, can't reach window to open for fresh air, and in a rough area. Restaurant is Indian, which makes for little choice for those adverse to spice and heat in food, no other restaurants in walking distance, not that you'd want to walk around the area at night. The staff are lovely, and other than the faults mentioned the single room I was in suited my business travel needs almost perfectly - desk, chair, plenty of sockets, iron and ironing board, although I did have to tether my work laptop to my phone due to poor Wi-Fi signal. Great for male travellers, may be a bit unnerving for single female travellers.
Not been for a while as it closed in lockdown.The placehas been refurbished our room was fantastic with jacuzzi huge room and the usual tea coffee biccys etc.We ate in the restaurant underneath its perfect for shopping at middleton grange just across the road not far to walk into town.
Tlc needed Windows require replacing or very much looked at still requiring more work doing someone really should do a better snaging list and also look up at ceilings .heating in rooms not enough and bathroom requires heated towel railnAs above more needs going but looks like the hotel is trying hard to bring it back up to standard keep going it should look good when overall finished off
Only had a drink in the bar , nice pint and very comfortable, cool place to drink
