Story

The Golden Pheasant is a family friendly bar and restaurant situated in the small village of Auchinloch just outside of Lenzie, with beautiful views over the roaming Green Campsie Hills. We pride ourselves on serving freshly prepared Scottish food daily and just as importantly serve it with a smile, with a large selection of fine Malt Whisky to sample. As well as offering great food in our restaurant we host regular live entertainment in the shape of cabaret acts and live music and even boast a lovely bar full with a pool table, dart board, table tennis table and jukebox!! Also on that rare occasion when the sun is shining there is nowhere more pleasant to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat than in our large beer garden! We are also delighted to offer free function hire for any special occasion, please get in touch for more information and allow us to ensure you have a night not to be forgotten. This establishment is divided into two sections. One side is the bar, the other is the restaurant. The bar is a little noisy but it was a Friday night. So we came into the restaurant and found it to be a lovely place. Staff were really friendly, the meals were delicious and everything was really cheaply priced. If back up in Scotland my fiancé and I will definitely call in here again. Highly recommend.
This was a very poor experience, with poor quality food and poor service. We'd booked last minute, and were looking forward to a nice meal on the last night of our long weekend away. What we got was mostly frozen ingredients - a Sunday roast where the only thing that didn't look like it came from Aunt Bessie was the honey roast ham which was nice, and vegetable fajitas where the vegetables were... the same frozen mixed veg that came with the roast, rather than the peppers, onions and mushrooms you'd expect. Not to mention that I had to ask for the decidedly anaemic Yorkshire puddings that were supposed to be included with the Sunday roast. On top of that, the service was poor. I'd already ordered my apple crumble with the main course, and yet the table next to us received theirs before us despite ordering it afterwards. When I asked about my pudding, I still had to wait, and it was served with all the aplomb of pizza dough being slapped onto a kitchen surface. To add insult to injury, the bill came with a pint of Tennants and a lemonade that we hadn't ordered. It was duly corrected, but I can safely say that we won't be visiting the Golden Pheasant again.
Nice meal. They have gluten-free batter, so we ordered a gluten-free fish and chips and a chicken katsu burger. Both were excellent. Didn't have desert as was full, but they have gluten-free sticky toffee pudding. It's worth a visit if you are coeliac. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free
The staff were extremely friendly. Amy was our server this evening and was very attentive. The disabled access was very good in the restaurant with disabled toilets. No disabled toilets in the bar, however! food was lovely and will definitely be back. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access into the restaurant and level seating for wheelchair/limited walking users. Disabled toilet at the back of the restaurant.
Mothers day Lunch. Amazing place, we felt comfy and relaxed. The food was great. Staff were really nice too.Food: 5/5
Booked for wee mid week anniversary dinner. Haven't eaten here before and we were VERY impressed. Friendly staff, amazing food including seriously tasty salt and pepper chicken goujons, and a lovely atmosphere, busy but not overpowering or loud. Lovely, and we WILL be back.Food: 5/5
I had a terrible experience at this pub. The service was incredibly slow, and the staff seemed disinterested in attending to customers. The atmosphere was dull and unwelcoming. The drinks were poorly made. To top it off, the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. Overall, I would not recommend this pub to anyone looking for a pleasant night out.
Excellent pub grub at a reasonable price. Good selection on the menu and prompt, friendly service. Place was very quiet when we arrived before 6.00 pm so not much atmosphere but it was beginning to fill up by the time we left. Well worth a visit and we will be back.
Lovely food and nice relaxed atmosphere, 11 of us out for family meal and the staff were great, service was brill, definitely would recommend Kid-friendliness: Fantastic kids menu,
Good to see the place so busy. Loved the touch of the scissors with the condiments, makes life easier! Good food, excellent service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free catered for.
