The Gnome reserve is free to enter. There are about 250 gnomes rough guess. Pleasantly set out. The garden centre sells gnomes of all sizes, as well as fairies and proper garden stuff! Went to the Merry Harriers home and garden centre not realising that the original Gnomes from the original Gnome Reserve that we visited five years ago had now moved and populated the beautiful grounds and pond around the garden centre. The Gnome Walk around the large pond in the grounds is a delight and kids as well as adults! will love it. There is a lovely restaurant there and the home and garden centre are excellent with quality products and plants.
Not sure what to expect when we arrived as it is simply added on to an existing garden centre. Needn't have worried as it's much bigger and better set up that might be expected. A great place to take younger kids, and free too. So many gnomes to see and a small play area as well. The fact it is next to a garden centre means there are facilities and somewhere to grab a drink and bite to eat nearby too. A lovely little place and we will be going back for as long as the kids are still interested in seeing lots of gnomes and fairies!
Fantastic to see the Gnomes in their new home. Visited their original home many years ago, it was lovely to be able to take my 3 year grandson to see the Gnomes, he loved every bit has his mother did 34 years ago.

It is a bit of a strange concept but it is very nice all the same. Literally just hundreds of garden gnomes in a forest and also a pretty little wildflower walk. Cheap to get in but also very small and only takes about an hour to do the whole place, get to borrow 'gnome hats' on your way in and also there is a quiz for the flower garden which my niece enjoyed helping with. Main downside was we ordered 6 cream teas and it was shared between pots and there is no way we had enough to warrant the money that was spent on it as they were £5 each, 1 jug of coffee between 4 people so just enough for one cup, 2 tiny jugs of milk between 6, 1 pot of cream and jam between 6, Scones were also a little dry. It is an ok place to go if you only have a few hours to kill.
The reserve is at the Merry Harriers Nursery, Bucks Mills on the A49 Atlantic Highway between Bideford and Bude. The nursery has a comprehensive stock of everything for the garden plus many more things like crafts, toys and clothes. If you want a coffee and cake, lunch or a lovely Sunday dinner you won't be disappointed.
