Quick service and good food. Just the right portion amount. Would recommend. Staff were friendly and accommodating. 4 people ate and drank for just shy over £100
Really like this pub. As a holiday maker we are always made welcome by staff and management alike. Great selection of beers, ciders and larger. We didn't eat on this visit we always have previously but all the food that came out looked amazing and everyone complimented how their meals were delicious. We are back in a couple of weeks and will be eating in, so see you soon.
We visited this evening as part of a group of nine for a family get together. The serving team were very friendly, polite and energetic. The food was good and made to order. I had a prawn cocktail which was very tasty and well presented larger prawns would have been nice, but that's just my personal preference. The baked Camembert was a huge platter. Main courses were good nice cooked food and the desserts were lovely, well worth a visit and will return soon.
I went here for a Sunday lunch and what an absolute treat it was too! Turkey and beef was my choice of meat along with a fabulous variety of veg. Red cabbage and cauli cheese are my favourites it’s put on your plate by the staff and they’re incredibly generous. My plate was piled high then I had to do the walk of shame through the restaurant back to my table with lots of eyes on my food. I nearly ate it all and it was absolutely delicious. Dessert was fabulous too, we had honeycomb cheesecake and frangipani tart again both were delectable. Great service with very friendly staff. It’s great to know it’s dog friendly too
Secimd visit. Stopped over night on the way to Devon. Rooms spacious. Clean. Fantastic play area with trampoline for free use of the kids. Also right on the canal so had an early evening canal walk. The food was fantastic. Was so good on the drive back from Devon we stopped off for a food break.
I have been visiting this pub for 40 years. Monday 2 men entered for a drink. They were told there was no where to sit. Every table was set aside for eaters. My wife and dog and I found the same negative welcome. We left and went home to drink. So much for hospitality in a drinking establishment. Shame on the Globe.
Lovely pub/restaurant with accomodation. We stayed one night and were made to feel very welcome. Great price for room and the breakfast included was amazing!!! Would definitely visit the restaurant again as the food looked great!
Had a carvery here . Rather disappointed at the way it was dished up by the staff. More training required . The stuffing balls were like solid marbles . The cutlery would go into them . The Yorkshire puddings were a right disaster. Serving under pressure needs addressing. Hence the sign outside. More staff required. Training given . Very appropriate. Let's hope it gets better on our next visit .
I love the Globe for its wonderful carvery. I don't enjoy going anywhere else for one and the staff there are all so friendly and efficient. Alcohol is a bit on the dear-side, so I don't tend to drink while I'm there, but that's not a bad thing!
The room was nice but a little dated and odd colours together. I would get rid of the pink cushions and throw as it would make it more modern. The bed was very comfy but needed 2 more pillows. The radiator and skirting boards need a clean. The ensuite bathroom was nice and clean though. I was woken to drunk people at midnight which I didn't appreciate and then woken up at 6am by kids shouting. The breakfast was great but the bacon needed frying a bit longer if I'm being picky!
