Met for breakfast with friends who had stayed overnight at premier Inn. Booked for 10.00, ordered fried breakfast at 10.10. at 10.50 queried when food would appear, to be told only one chef in kitchen usually 3 so doing his best. Would have been better to be told this when ordering cooked food. When food eventually arrived it was dreadful, obviously kept under hot lamp for hours, although poached eggs were good as much as they looked weird. Tomato had disintegrated, black pudding crispy, bacon destroyed, food not hot. Other than that it was ok not!. Had been to restaurant earlier in the week for an evening meal of sirloin steak which had been inedible. Again , on querying delay of 40 minutes told that staff hadn't turned up. Serving staff should advise clientele there's a problem in kitchen so they could choose to stay or go elsewhere. Felt sorry for serving staff as they're front of house & get all the grief from customers & running around to try & make sure there were enough plates, bread, coffee etc and poor chef must have been trying his best, sadly not good enough. So didn't complain but it was really awful, will not be going again.
Great for breakfast for those staying in the adjacent Premier Inn and including breakfast in their booking. So good locals pop in for breakfast. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Bar open in the day and supper served in the evenings. Breakfast £10:99 breakfast and dinner deal £26.99 seems good value.
We went for a quick drink, as we had business to deal with further up the road. Very pleasantly received, wonderful to see there is a clear bar area, where you can also have a meal, while watching sport on the television. Very relaxed and admirable atmosphere. It would be a pleasure to return and hopefully sample the food as it appears the prices to be very reasonable, not only for the drinks but especially the prices of the food. Hope to visit again soon.
Very busy took 2 hours to be served and they didn’t have any strawberries and didn’t tell us . Main meal was good though
Seemed to wait ages to be seated. Then it was a long wait for our order to be taken. When to food finally arrived, the chicken in the Cobb Salad was very sparse. The haddock order was supposed to come with mash and garden peas. It arrived with chips and mushy peas. They didn't appear to be particularly apologetic. At the time of the food arriving we ordered a second pint of lager and also asked for some mustard. Neither arrived! They did however add the second lager to the bill. We then had to wait for a manager to have it removed. A bit of a rotten evening really.
