Went bowling with the family. Barnsley overall now looks much better by my personal experience is its not as busy as it was years ago. I suppose with the cost of living that people can't afford to go out as much these days.
In the last 5 years Barnsley has undergone a town centre regeneration, clean, full of great independent and national shops along side some amazing restaurants. The market now has an amazing food court on the first floor with a great selection to choose from. The parking is adequate, the only down side is the corkscrew entrance and exit to the parking levels.
The weather was glorious and loads of people out and about. We called into the NEXT store to have a look for some summer tops for my wife. She ordered one to pick up tomorrow. The service in the store was excellent we had to wait a little bit because other people were in front of us but it was only a few minutes.nWe sat outside the Glasshouse in front of the fountains for a short time watching the little ones enjoying themselves running round the water spouts.
New Shopping Center open Now - lots of Big Shops and Restaurants - big Brands . Barnsley was already famous for its variety of Pubs and the Market - Now has a fantastic Facelift - with modern units available to rent- modern covered walkway with open spaces to walk through seating, an up to date mall as good as Meadow hall - easy to get to - as it’s accessible through Barnsley interchange Bus/Train- has access to the Alhambra Shopping Centre which is adjacent with ample parking spaces. It’s definitely a place for business- but also a place for leisure with Cinemas and Super Bowl soon to open too . The Library which is also, accessible at the Glass Works. It’s packed with multiple options for all ages.nGrass areas , fountains - as well as buskers and entertainment- hustle and bustle of a busy town full of people living . Come and have a look
Great market, lots of different stalls and well maintained. Food hall is big and very popular, nice outside eating area when weather is good. Good to read about the history of the market over the years and a good reason to visit Barnsley.
