Booked for family meet up. Place quiet upon arrival. Requested drinks menu but only wine menu available. Menu presented but some selected drinks were unavailable! Ordered simple choice of three soups, and four mains. Waited for nearly fifty minutes before soups arrived and that after progressing our order! Then due to another wait for the mains to appear decided to cancel order and leave. Waitress most apologetic and offered refund for soup dishes as service not good. Upon booking it was clear diners had a 2 hour slot! We left after 100 minutes. So disappointed as last year both service and food excellent. Better communication with diners about delays and more attentive staff would have helped.
Stayed here for a week while working the in area. Its a friendly pub, and inn, the rooms are very nice and cosy, its an old building with uneven floors in the rooms. The bed was comfy and the room was nice and had everything you could need. The food was nice and good, could fault this. Slight issue with the heating on the last night but nothing to complain about, must go and see the ducks.
We have had a room booked at the George Inn to visit Longleat Safari park. As soon as we stepped into the Inn we were greeted by a friendly young lady who was professional and very respectful. The great service continued when we had dinner. Once again the staff member was very polite and professional. In addition the food was great. Our room was very comfy, clean and had everything we could ask for. The bathroom was perfectly clean, a good size and modern. At breakfast, the lady who was waiting was also polite, friendly and professional. It's been a long time since I have witnessed such outstanding service from staff member. This is how things should be done. Prices = Service = Staff = Room = Nearby activities: Longleat Safari park is nearby and well worth a trip
Visited for lunch just before Christmas and it was lovely! Everyone is super welcoming, it’s dog friendly, and serves great food. I had the fish pie which was homemade. Worth a visit if you’re driving by as it’s super easy to park!
Nice big pub. Located on the main road, it’s easily found. We booked a table, but were kept waiting until we were just pointed to our table. It was obvious they were short staffed and our food took around 45 minutes to arrive, which considering they were not busy, was disappointing. Food was great when it arrived.
I would usually recommend this place to people, but this time, I really wouldn't. Took 30 minutes to receive our drinks, took over an hour to receive our food. Not one member of staff came to ask if we wanted more drinks or to ask how our food was. Food was definitely not worth the money, £15 for a burger and all that was on the plate was a burger which wasn't great and a small portion of chips, with that price I'd at least expect an extra side with onion rings or a side salad.
Booked this hotel as a stopover on our way to Devon. Very impressed by the size and decor. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Great ensuite and smart TV should you want to watch netflix etc. Only downside was traffic noise from about 6am. It didn't bother us at all but not great if you wanted total peace and quiet. Having said that if you book a room right beside the road what do you expect. All staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food good and would certainly book again
Met up with friends for a pre-Christmas meal. Food was very tasty, but could have been hotter!. Staff were friendly, but due to the business of the place, there was quite a wait for food and drinks. They seem to have become vicitms of their own success. But, overall I really do like the place
This is a great inn..I use it for meetings as just off A303 and easy to get to from North Wiltshire. Very popular for lunches and breakfast nice mix of locals and visitors. Staff always friendly. Got good outside spaces tooService: 5/5
Lovely outside and in. Food.... Some confusion and very limited menu. Not that impressed. Atmosphere and staff fab. Room lovely. Slept awful due to very loud squeeky floor board which everyone seemed to step on when they passed. Breakfast didn't stay.Rooms: 4/5
