Lovely old pub in the middle of Charmouth. Great beers from Otter and St Austell breweries. A small but adequate menu and great out door beer garden. Of course hugely dog friendly, with a menu for your hound too. Great visit. Thank you
Welcoming original pub near the Manor Farm Hill Climb venue. Food and service was spot on and local ales on the tap was bonus. Only 4 stars since got a bit cold in the terrace since the heaters were broken
Wouldn't be a trip to charmouth without going here. L9vely to see the bar lady hasn't retired. She's awesome. Very warm and friendly pub great food. And the goats, of course wouldn't be the same without there. Garden brilliant for children. We'll worth going to
Very nice local pub. Good food and nice beer garden. Worth a visit if your in the area.. Sunday carvery through the summer
Nice, atmospheric pub that allows dogs to join their owners and if you have an allergy or are afraid of dogs, don't go here. Can take over an hour to get food on a busy Friday in the month of August, but it was to be expected for that time of the year. The fishcakes I had were lovely as was the banger's n' mash. Our 8-year old could play and feed a few goats in the pub's large garden and have a bit of play with other kids. We would probably not go on a Friday again, with a hungry child waiting a long time for food, which is quite stressful. It being busy, meant some parents took no interest in what their kids were up to and there were some not very nice children in the playground a local child said it was tourists. It was also very smokey. Two days earlier, when we came for the first time, it was quieter and really nice. Our son was treated well, no hitting by other children, and we enjoyed it very much. Not a huge variety in terms of food, though. The menu was more or less the same as a nearby holiday park, but all in all a convenient pub we would return to. Be aware that parking along the main road through Charmouth, where the pub is situated, during the summer months is virtually impossible. Try walking to it from a car parking area, it's much easier.
Lovely friendly pub, the lady working last night was probably one of the most genuinely friendly people I've met working in a pub for a long, long time. I had the Foggots, which were delicious and an extremely large portion too.
Great stuff. Nice food! Served within minutes and a good selection of Ales.
Food was okay, sauces were cheap with the mayo like water and ketchup too sweet. But the setting was really good, perfect for families with kids. Goats to pet and feed with a wash station next to it and a play area with plenty to do!
Staying for a week in Charmouth, there are 2 pubs on the high street and by far, the George is the best. The food was lovely, with good sized portions. But more importantly for me was the warm, totally genuine, welcoming we received. The staff are truly a ray of sunshine, well done ladies.
Fantastic for kids. Massive playground and pet goats you can feed. Good food too!
