Along with friends who live locally we visited this establishment for the second time last weekend. Our visit confirmed for us that lunch at the George is a real treat. The food is first class as was the service. Set in the middle of Easingwold, a lovely little town, this hotel is an example of how a restaurant should be run. Despite visiting on a busy Saturday lunchtime we felt that we were made very welcome and given ample time and attention. The restaurant area is well presented, relaxed and comfortable. The lunchtime menu suited our party, offering a good choice for us all. Perhaps most importantly the food was first class. Based on our experience I would be happy to recommend the George to anyone.
What a gem of a spot! Night away with the husband… quaint room at the exterior, dog friendly room and straight outdoors when needed. Lovely little green area for a walk round with him too! The room was spotless and lovely decor. The hotel was just as lovely, initially greeted by Ewan.. such a lovely man with a huge interest in our visit and ensuring we were comfortable. Amazing service at the bar.. great drinks selection. We were truly overwhelmed with the food quality, we opted for all inclusive food and didn’t regret it. Three courses and each was fantastic. Highly recommend. We loved that our dog was welcome into the restaurant too and we weren’t made to sit elsewhere. He had plenty of treats including his own plate at dinner. Nothing was too much trouble and we look forward to returning. Thank you for your hospitality. Love the Chapmans xx
The George catered for my Father's funeral and I have to say the food was spectacular and such a good idea to do an afternoon type event. The choice of beers is great.
Two courses on the lunch menu £18.nThis is my fourth visit. I ate on my own today in the restaurant.nProblem with online booking but quickly sorted over the telephone.nThe service is great here and very friendly. The young lady serving me , was efficient and friendly.nThe two courses I had were fantastic. My latte was extra hot ,just as I asked for.nFantastic food and service.nI would recommend this to anyone who fancies a change.nI look forward to going again.
Dined on the restaurant a couple of times while staying in the area. Great choice of pub classics and specials and food was excellent. Very impressed with the service which was attentive, friendly and efficient and exceeded my expectations. Drinks menu is comprehensive and well thought out and there are a range of interesting beers on tap.
