Perhaps my expectations were too high but I came away a bit under whelmed with the garden. There was no Wow moment. If you've visited Jupiter Artland then this is a water downed version. It was well organised. Volunteers kept you right with parking etc. I liked the live music. Would like to give it more stars but its just okay.
** Only open one day a year for 5 hours ** - brilliant sculptured landscapes - Must stick to paths to preserve the structures of mounds plenty of people to tell you off if you don't - Worth going to see but wouldn't return on a yearly basis.
Busy but not crowded. Ample parking and helpful very friendly staff. The grounds were impressive on a large scale. Interactive, fun and thought provoking. Best suited to the more mobile as a lot of areas are without paths.
This is a truly wonderful garden on a grand scale. It's only open to the public on one day every year.
Absolutely spectacular, well worth a visit on its open days
Great gardens, great cause. A well organised day and sunny too!
Only open one day a year for Maggies centres so expected a crowd. We didn’t allow for it being a great sunny day so it was more than just crowded. The gardens are fabulous but less relaxing with so many folk there. Could not even be bothered to queue in the heat for tea. Most people seemed prepared with some excellent looking picnics. It would be fantastic if it was possible to visit here at another time of the year but that is not going to happen so you need to pack your picnics and go for it.
The sun was out so it was a good day to go and the money goes towards charity but not really my thing.
The lovely volunteers were a highlight : Had nice chats with some of them. 2021 visit was very drizzly, but well worth it. Not overcrowded thankfully
We loved spending our day seeing the impressive water features, spirals, Scottish luminaries' plaques, bridges, trees, rhododendrons and flowers...too many things to list! Beautiful singing from a local performer; all in all, a lovely day out. The helpers and staff were great. Our 7 year old loved it. The scale was mind blowing. Thanks to the gardening team and owner for such a memorable day out !
