A really great small venue. Went to see Dream Syndicate here and it was a great gig. The stage is at a good height to get a good view of the band wherever you are standing. Entry & ticket verification was a quick and smooth process. We used the cloakroom and that was well run without a long wait to get you items back at end of event. The doorstaff were very friendly and helpful, done a good job of fencing off a smoking area outside the venue and exit / re-entry was very smooth. Venue is just across the road from Highbury tube station 1 min walk so is very easy to travel to.nThere is a good selection of drinks, both on tap and in cans at around £7.50 per pint.
Went to see Ghost Woman here.nnPositives:nFriendly staff and easy entry.nnNegatives:nThe chattering at the bar carried across the whole room, completely ruining the experience for both the artist and the audience. This is a real issue for bands whose music doesn’t drown out background noise.nnNote on the evening:nThe crowd was incredibly rude and inconsiderate, people talking loudly throughout the performance, and the security did nothing about it.nn 5 stars for the artistn 1 stars for the venue acousticsn 1 star for the audience
Was waiting in the line and thought to go get a quick shot at the store and got stop by the bouncer saying i cant bring the shot in the venue, which i wasnt planing to do anyways wanted a quick drink before getting in the club, ended up not getting it because though it might cause some trouble.nThe concert audio quality was really poor, and not much of a choice in the bar from drinks. Would not recommend
We went to see Utah Saints there and it was great. Nice size club: not too big and not too small. Staff were pretty friendly, toilets easy to access from the dancefloor. Drink prices weren't quite as eye-watering as some other venues.nStaff were pretty conscientious re mopping up spillages and looking after punters.nWe had a great time.
Love this venue. Went to see my favourite band, the Coronas and the staff are always lovely and really helpful and friendly. The sound was really good, much better since the last time I went in 2017. Hopefully there will be more reasons to visit. Great location too.
