It is a wonderful accommodation which such nice interior and open space. People are very friendly, especially zoey staff- she is always cheerful and helpful, keeps the balance between discipline and fun. And she always greets you with a very lovely smile and energy which could easily make your day so much brighter. This accommodation is worth all the money and I would recommend this to everyone going to RHUL.
The accommodation itself is fine but receptionist Zoe makes it hell to live here. She is extremely rude and arrogant to both guests and residents. According to contract, management staff cannot enter your room without 24 hr notice but she would knock just once and then the same second unlocks and get inside the room which is ‘invading one’s privacy’ this is highly unprofessional and against the contract terms. Also she does not know what talking politely is and thinks people have hearing aid cause she literally comes and start shouting. The worst staff member I’ve ever come across and just cause of her wouldn’t rebook garage for next year.
I would not recommend living here at all! It’s unwelcoming and to be honest, has extremely poor management. The staff member Zoe is incredibly rude and impolite to not just the guests but residents themselves. She makes people feel like they are dumb for asking questions or seeking guidance if they are new to the accommodation. I am utterly shocked with how she treats people and her poor attitude really makes the garage a hostile place to live. Other accommodations are so much better where the staff are so helpful and try their best to help out even if you’re a guest. Disappointed and would not recommend a place with no professional staff.
While the accommodation itself is comfortable and convenient, the staff member Zoe is extremely disrespectful and unwelcoming. She told me to “grow up” after seeing my initial hesitance to walk past her “puppy”. I think it was quite rude and unprofessional since I didn’t do anything out of regulations. Just because one has authority, does not mean it’s a dictatorship. This isn’t the first time she’s been disrespectful and dismissal to the care of others - I’ve noticed her doing this with some of the residents in that accommodation. She is impolite and unfriendly, you’d rather find an accommodation that has professional management rather than one that insults you.
I've had a brilliant year so far at the Garage. It's a super convenient location to get anywhere for Royal Holloway and in its own pleasant little gated area.nZoe from reception has been helpful and considerate every step of the way. You will be in good hands here at the Garage!
