FIRST REVIEW ON GOOGLE EVER BUT THIS PLACE DESERVES IT Bought a doner kebab here for £7..... The Meat tasted a week old like it had been "boiled" a week ago and left in the pot. I know a good kebab! and this is definitely without a doubt the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten in my life. And as for Galleon Fish bar if you don't like the TRUTH change it. Will never spend about penny here even if I was starving. Also sauce was watered down to the point you guys may aswell have poured a glass of water over it Woman in the shop was friendly that was the only good that came of it.
Avoid at all costs overpriced garbage. They forgot a fish from my order so I went back & they accused me of being a liar when it was there mistake. I'm now barred from here for daring to question the mystery of the missing fish by the owner who needs a good wash & needs to learn customer service skills. Really gone down hill since George left. The 'boss' needs hygene needs improvement I know its hot working but the smell of B.O from him was overbarring. The food that we did receive was sub standard undercooked chips, grisly sausage I wouldn't feed to my dog. I can't comment on the fish as we didn't recieve it. Dare to complain then your barred. Avoid avoid avoid. Wouldn't give this place a star at all.
Best chippy in the area! The fish is thick and meaty- no wet slop here. The Greek chicken kebab is absolutely divine. The portions are so large that my partner and I often share a meal designed for 1, and struggle to finish it. The staff are always friendly. Despite what other reviews might say, the prices are exactly average for a fish and chip shop of this quality across all Yorkshire- I imagine those reviews were written by people who still think you can get a 99 with a flake, for 99p.

£6.80 for the kebab special, all really good! Not at all greasy, will have again!
Best chippy in the area. I've been going to The Galleon since I was a kid. Shame their prices have skyrocketed - it has become far too expensive.
My family have been eating here for years. The food is great quality and always very enjoyable. The staff are lovely and friendly too. Never had a bad experience and we've lived in Thurnscoe for 12 years.
