Story

Wouldn't you love some fresh fish and chips?
The Fryery was established in 1976 by Colin Walker. Since then it has been developed into a family run business which is now managed by Colin’s son Greg.

At first we were located in a smaller shop across the road from our current premises, but in 1999 we moved to a bigger site to accommodate the growing demand for our good quality food.

Over the years we have tried our best to respond to the requests of customers, increasing our menu options and sourcing good quality ingredients.

In 2010 we started home deliveries following feedback from our older customers that they were finding if difficult to come into the shop. Our delivery service has gone from strength to strength and we are now able to offer it to all of our customers within the Hockley and Hawkwell area during all opening hours.

We strive for excellence in our food and customer service. Many of our products are home made on site using fresh ingredients including our Burgers, Jacket Potatoes, Fishcakes, Paninis, Fritters and our much loved Coleslaw.

We source our potatoes as locally as possible depending on the time of year. All of our potatoes are prepared on site in order to offer our customers the freshest product possible and the tastiest chips.

Tried out the Fryery’s new menu for a change tonight. Funky chips were recommended, definitely a winner! Had the smoked pulled pork chips and they were a meal in itself. Looking forward to trying the other options. We also had cod and southern fried chicken which as always were amazing and cooked to perfection. Thanks guys!

Just had another lovely chicken shish kebab. Chicken always moist and tasty and the salad is really nice. I had one from a kebab shop and it was ok, but definitely the fryery is my first choice for chicken shish kebabs.
