With 3 halls to chose from it's a versatile venue for any kind or size of party. I see that it is currently closed which is a shame, and hope that this situation changes as it was a great asset for the area. I often DJ here and at other local venues, and offer a photography package too. I'd be pleased to hear from you.
We visited The Freight House for a charity quiz night. The actual venue is set in reasonably nice grounds adjacent to the railway station hence its name I guess!. The decor and layout of the place is OK without being outstanding. The one real disappointment for us was the fact that the bar was very shoddily stocked with only a very small selection of beers and wine. This was bad enough for us to drop a star.
Such a great venue and they are so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We used their caterers who had really good options for their menus and the food was so good that it all got eaten with plenty for everyone. I have no hesitation in recommending the Freight House, Rochford.
This is a lovely venue and Lucy was very helpful with my wedding, however be aware of very expensive in house catering that isn't worth its money and also the freight house lost my linen napkins after putting them in a sack for collection for laceys event services who they recommended. I had to pay out a deposit for this, which I am not happy about because I was told that everything would be cleaned up and collected. Not good service at all, do not hire for a wedding!!
All amenities you need to put an event together, bar stage and toilets, free parking space but on a big event I would suspect this parking area may be a bit small, there it train station parking next door but this is pay and display, it may suit better if you get the train, Rochford, mainline Station from Southend Victoria or Liverpool Street, I have been to this venue a few times and have never had cause to complain. I had my son's christening here.. the staff were amazing and the venue itself was perfect. Special thanks to Steve the barman, he was super friendly and helpful.. wish I could remember the young ladies name aswell because she was awesome aswell. Highly recommended. Matt, Lois and Jacob. 11/02/18
Yearly pilgrimage to the Rochford beer festival. Excellent variety of ales,ciders and lagers. Sometimes a bit crowded but manageable.
Went for a medical seminar. But The Freight House, is a Great Venue. I remember it as a boy. A derelict ruin. But this place is rerfict for business meetings or a Wedding party. Other parties are available birthdays, retirements and so on.
It is a good venue for different events. Good parking spaces available. Bar is inside. Nice capacity for seating
Attended a friends 60th Birthday Party here. Nice venue, easy to find & lots of parking.
