A pub how pubs should be. Friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, great food, an open fire, dogs welcome, and a great selection of very well kept beers. This is such a great pub, if I lived locally, I'd be back every day!nWe ate here twice in a weekend - the beef and the chicken burgers were excellent, with generous portions. The curry of the day was tasty, with just the right level of heat. Fish pie was creamy and packed with tender fish, and the peach frangipane tart was delicious. Great selection of local beers, plus loads of different lagers and ciders - the first place I've seen with Lucky Buddah lager on tap! Cannot recommend this pub enough.
Never been here before, first time visiting was Xmas day 2024. Obviously the table had to be booked in advance & credit/debit card info held in case of cancellation understandably. Again the place was understandably busy. We were seated in what I understand to be the new conservatory area overlooking the garden with big patio doors & lovely skylight, I also spotted an air con in here for use if necessary in the summer. On this occasion our food choices had been pre ordered for the 3 course meal. Unfortunately only 3 out of 6 of us were able to attend illness, the 3 non attendees were still charged the full amount as it was very short notice I rang early to check what the situation was, so I went along with empty takeaway boxes so that I could at least take home 3 mains & 3 puds for the unwell people, this was no problem at all for The Fox staff to sort for me & I noticed I wasn't the only person doing this. The salmon pate & french onion soup was delicious, & the turkey roast my uncle had was huge, he got through it but I'm unsure if I'd of managed it, I had the salmon en croute which I noticed was home made, not pre made, just melted in the mouth. The mince pie ice cream was a different but very nice twist. The meal ended with mince pies, tea, coffee. The atmosphere was nice, people enjoying themselves & background music that wasn't so loud that you had to shout. The wait staff were excellent, despite obviously being very busy each course arrived in a suitable timeframe. I was concerned we might not get a parking space but as we were the second sitting it freed up space in the car park as first sitting tables had gone, otherwise it's yellow lines nearby or a 5 minute walk from a free car park by the church St Mary's I think. Well done The Fox. I must visit another time.
Hadn’t been here for ages, glad I visited. Really friendly staff and credit to the chef. Great chat with him and really passionate about his trade. Perfected the lamb rump and came out exactly as asked for. Fantastic balance of flavour and beautifully presented. Lovely traditional sticky toffee to finish. Will be seeing them all again soon………

Just found the Fox near our favourite beach Felpham, saw a couple of reviews that concerned me however gave it a go for the Sunday Roast, they nailed it. What a lovely pub, great atmosphere with plenty of staff to serve so didn’t wait long for drinks at the bar and at our table for our roast. The food was hot and plenty on the plate, requested extra gravy which came in no time. Will definitely go back for another meal.
