We enjoyed our meal and the staff was excellent. The car park was very busy so we had to park around the corner, easy enough tho. As much as I enjoyed the food and it was very good quality I wouldn't have a dessert next time as I found it very expensive for the size. I do however recommend the prawns to start and the chicken burger.Food: 5/5
Our first time here in over 30 years I moved away a long time ago and back more recently, and have to say, it was lovely. The food delicious see pics! and the staff attentive and friendly. Plus points.... the staff, really good locally sourced ingredients, cooked to perfection and a very laid back evening. No one pressures you to have more or to leave when finished as often happens in other establishments. Perfectly paced. Negative points... well there are alwqys negatives but to be fair these are real nit picks. When we arrived we were asked to eat at the bar and order drinks. When we did the very pleasant bar man suggested we sit and he'd come take our order. Unfortunately he got sidetracked and this never happened. When the Maitre De came to escort us to our table he asked and was very surprised when we said we didn't have drinks. So, to complete, an excellent evening lovely staff, excellent food and a really good time. Would I go again? In a heartbeat. Yes. Great 'new' find
We attended a wedding reception here and the service was first class. The food was fantastic, everyone said how nice their food was and to serve that many people at the same time was a fantastic effort by all. They had a fair few different ales and lagers on, and there was a large outdoor area too. Very nice, and I'd like to come back for a Sunday dinner as the beef looked amazing!
Outstanding pib. Parking isn't great though. Very small. Carpark, awkward spots and lots of hopeless parkers. Inside is excellent, cosy mix of modern and oldy worldy. Big bar, great service. Recommend.
Met my friends here yesterday for lunch had the BLT with chips and it was gorgeous chips were homemade and fabulous. The sticky toffee pudding is the best ever so moist. Service was fantastic i will definitely be back here for lunch. Thank you
We have been to this restaurant several times and it's ways lovely and the food is perfect. Staff are very helpful and friendly. 100 % recommended
Not as good as the last times we've been. Usually would give this place 5 stars. Hair found in food, tons of fruit flies in the vinigar. Not enough on the new menu for vegetarians. Service really slow even though it was reasonably quiet. The fillet steak was still quality. Vegetarian options: Not much for choice.
Called in on the off chance for a late lunch my wife and I. Food was very good. But the cost of a glass of wine was only noticed when I recieved the bill. £10:70 I'm sorry but thats taking the "Michael". I would have expected to pay £18 - £22 for a bottle, its only a pub serving pub grub.Service: 3/5
Very disappointing. Considering we have dined here many times before and had no issues. Tonight for our 35th wedding anniversary firstly my goat’s cheese starter was frozen in the middle then to add insult to injury the beef main was cold full of grease and fat, the potatoes burned and roasted carrots that had no taste! To be fair they took my meal off the bill along with my drinks but come on this was pretty poor! Certainly not up to our previous experiences.
Very good service from staff. Food quality excellent and quick arrival. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Nice decoration. Plenty of menu choice and was nice sitting non a table next to an open fire which really added to the charm and was very cosy. Would definitely recommend
