We love The Foveran and most recently had a gorgeous meal in celebration of our Wedding Anniversary. It was excellent. The staff are friendly and very efficient and the food is superb. We'll be dining there again very soon.  Parking: Parking is right outside the restaurant.

Such a lovely, very special evening celebrating a birthday. The food was the best, beautifully presented. Views amazing, unfortunately the weather wasn't good for visibility, but stunning even so. Amazing gin cocktail!!!!  Vegetarian options: My husband likes to choose the vegetarian option and enjoyed his.

Went here on recommended of some locals and was not disappointed, service was great and friendly and the food was excellent. The view from the restaurant was lovely and the whole setup was good. Not a cheap night but well worth the price

Once again an amazing stay at the Foveran. Paul, Helen,Roddy and all the wonderful staff were,as usual on point. We love Orkney and always stay with them. Top class for hospitality. Thanks again guys.

Stayed for 3 nights. Excellent service, friendly staff especially Jordan who was great fun and efficient.  Restaurant food was really good only wish they would give you a take away breakfast as we left at 645am for early ferry, didnt want to eat at 6am cereal and toast they had kindly left for us.  Room was super too.  Highly recommend.

We loved our evening here. Reserve well in advance - it’s popular!  I had a steak and my wife had chicken. The setting and the meal were lovely.

We managed to get a last minute cancellation for our wedding night, we were so lucky, the food and wine were the best we had had on Orkney, the staff had kindly decorated the table in wedding style and given us a prime seat.  Gay friendly, and a beautiful setting to dine in, overlooking scapa flow.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Food was amazing.  Couldn't fault the service and the view was fabulous.

Overpriced and uninspiring.  A prominent sign on arrival warns that the restaurant will be closed and locked up by 10:30pm. So much for our expectations of a leisurely gourmet meal...! I had ribeye steak which was chewy and gristley, I'd chosen it because its supposed to be the most succulent. My wife's sirloin was chewy, no mention of steaks being aged and hung. Lidl steaks are much better quality. Side dishes were overcooked cabbage and re-heated boiled potatoes. Young staff are pleasant but no mention made that I had left much of my steak. No evidence of anyone being in charge and driven to ensure guests have a good experience.  Wine list prices belong in London West End. Overall summary was bad value, poor food.

A visite  from Belgium to the Orkney Islands without dining at the Foveran is not possible for us. The fourth time we visited the Foveran, and once again we were delighted about the exceptional tasty food, the friendly staff and the wonderful evening we had at the Foveran. Many thanks!!!
