The Forge has amazing super fresh Whitstable Oysters ! You can choose from small, medium, and large. Also If you have Amex you can get £5 cash back for purchase of £10. Eventhough the que is long but it's worth to wait, especially when they are opening your oysters right infront of you !
The chips were not good and looked and tasted like frozen oven chips which had been deep fried. The batter on the fish also tasted sweet, like the donuts had been fried in the same oil. Service was friendly and it's a great location but the food was disappointing, especially when there are lots of other fish and chip shops to choose from
There was not too long a queue over the weekend. Oysters were very fresh and tasty! Good deal. And cashless payment only these days due to social distancing.
Excellent oysters, fish and chips BUT can you not get your rubbish situation under control. You produce far too much rubbish, don’t offer enough bins, none to recycle and really set a very bad example with respect of playing fair with your environment!!! Please get things right next year. I cannot be the first one mentioning this.
Love The Forge! Can be a little busy at times but totally worth the wait for fresh oysters. It’s also great watching the staff shuck the oysters right in front of you!
Surrounded by fresh fish and seafood as you promenade in Whitstable but really need a quick sugar fix? Then call in here for fresh cooked ring donuts Yum Yum. They also do fresh oysters/lobster and chips as well as tea coffee and booze. All outside so easy social distancing. Reccomend
